eBay employee bought an item of mine
 

Has anyone ever had this happen?

An eBay employee bought an item I'm selling.

It's shipping to a verified address and it is going directly to them at eBay.

Not unheard of. It may well just be an eBay employee buying a personal item and having it delivered to work

eBay is a massive company. I've actually visted one of their facilities on Hamilton Ave in San Jose, CA several years ago before they moved into their larger campus on N. 1st Street. They also have a big presence in Draper, Utah. Their main facility is San Jose, which is mostly administrative/corporate functions.

I highly doubt eBay would be doing a test buy from you anyway. If that's going to happy, it will likely be an agent working on behalf of a brand, law firm, or LEA in the pursuit of an investigation.

An eBay employee once bought something from, I knew it because shipping address was to eBay headquarter in Germany. I never shipped the item though and weirdly enough, they never asked for a refund!!

I shipped to an employee at eBay's headquarters in California a couple years ago.

It was a set of 3 Lightning cables. I was really worried but never had a problem. I guess an eBay employee needed some cables for their desk at work.

Two years ago I sent a shipment to a PayPal employee in Europe, don't remember the country. I was worried too. It all went smoothly. Also got nice feedback.

Not uncommon. Most likely to be an eBay employee ordering the item for their own personal use.

You have nothing to worry about, especially given your item is genuine.

I have received orders to employees at eb hq in California quite a few times - no issue with f*ke products so I was not worried - always had good experience
