What is involved with password reset?
 

I forget one of my ebay passwords, and my pc that I always used to logon from the hdd crashed. I guess if I have to I can try to get that working again(password was saved) or copy the data but what is involved in reseting a ebay password today? Do they simply just email you a link and you reset it? Im pretty sure I used my google voice number so I should also beable to receive texts.

Just want to make sure before I go head and try it or should I get my pc working again.

So along as your have access to the email and/or phone# you should be OK to reset the PW.

I would recommend in the future that you setup the security questions and file them away with your stealth accounts. I keep them on file in a couple places just in case I lose access to one of them, computer crash, etc.

I wouldn't even try unless you have access to both. They may want to send a confirmation text or call to make sure it's really you trying to make changes.

Honestly if this were me I'd be using a SATA to USB adapter to recover the account off the crashed HDD, rather than trying to change the password.

I just checked my google voice, and I do have some voicemails from 2017 from ebay trying to follow up on emails they sent about inventory tips. I should be good, I've never changed the number and they even referenced my username.

I guess once I try to change my password, I can never go back to the crashed drive uh? Maybe I should go this route to be safe.

Well, if you accidentally lock yourself out of your account somehow, then reverting to your old crashed HDD wouldn't be an option.

If you have access to the email, the GV #, and the # the GV forwards to (in case they want to call), you should be good to go ahead and change the password though.

On the other hand, SATA to USB kits are really cheap and it's good to keep one around.
