Activity: 5% Longevity: 52% | | The worst customer you have ever had.
I recently sold an item to a customer and personally contacted him about the condition of the item. (the item is a factory second). I clearly informed him that it would not be like the shelf model. It could have some minor defects. The said customer approves and I ship. The customer then goes to the store and compares the item to a shelf model. Then as you guessed it, comes back and claims it is ⊗⊗⊗⊗ and not like the store model. I promptly refund and keep moving.
A few days later, the customer comes back and tries to extort me and keeps messaging me about proof with a PO order and for me to provide document and that I am scamming him. I message him back and assure him no one is scamming him as his funds had already been returned and he still kept the items.
Oddly enough, a few days later he leaves negative feedback with the accusation that I am scamming.(see the pattern here) So, I respond to his feedback and make it clear he was trying to extort me and I suspected him to be a competitor.
Today, he comes back with, "I called ebay and they are going to shut your account down, hahahah". This is the second time he has claimed to call ebay. How can someone have that much time on their hands? Has any of you had customers like this? This account is a 2014 account with almost 900 positive feedback and literally 3 negatives.

when I was selling on amazon, I would sell cellphones to people.....
those same people go to the store and the cellphone store pretends that it doesnt work.
but really, they want the customer to buy from them. So they get them to return the phone to me.
Also you get really ignorant people in the middle of nowhere who are not technology literate....so if they don't know how to use something....they assume its broken.....
Yeah I don't deal with customers anymore. | The Following 2 Users Say Thank You to H4ck For This Useful Post: | |

As for 2nds (or irregulars) these products contain minor cosmetic flaws or slight irregularities, which do not affect the fit, performance or longevity of the item. A SMALL flaw means BIG savings. Label is usually clipped or marked by the manufacturer.

It was just a question. I can't use Google because they blocked me.
If it was just a "factory second" legitimate item and not a counterfeit most sellers would have emailed the buyer a return shipping label so the item could be returned, rather than simply giving the item away for free. Giving away items for free is a bad business model and is generally indicative of counterfeits being sold.

There are many reasons the seller might have not got the item back.
From the sound of this scenario, I would rather lose the item and get rid of the a**hole customer, especially if it was a low value item.

NEVER refund a buyer without getting the item back even if you loose money in the process.

Okay, refunding the buyer still has nothing to do with counterfeits..

Sometimes by saying they have to return it before getting their money back, they won’t actually send it back, and you never have to refund.

Sounds like someone out for revenge and spite. I used to exchange nasty words with nasty buyers and two threatened to report me but nothing comes of it. Some people are like that.
You can absolutely turn it around on them by threatening to report for extortion - which you know is against policy. But add some spice and say they won't be able to use Ebay anymore. It's entertaining to see how quickly the buyer will change their tune.

I've sold Factory 2nd's, primarily in the Bra category. The 2nd's were from Victoria Secret....and because they were 2nd's they would take off the "VS" tag or cut it in half. Many of times I had people question the authenticity of the bra.

This guy is clearly a competitor, as his account is not that old and tied to other major golf sellers he follows.
As for the non-return. This item would require priority level shipping that would eat 30 percent back into the item. Even if I got the item back, I would almost break exactly even after fees again and risk of damaged items. Also, the item is very rarely returned as over 98 percent of the customers love the item. Plus, I dont want to set up a PO and risk a stealth account with different addresses.
As for factory seconds, what do you think TJMAXX is? You can literally get mid level clothing for dollar store prices over a minor error or clearance of an abundant item. All retail stores does this to make a very small profit versus a decent sized loss.

Some female customers can go over the top with returning a very cheap item. It can lead to some real drama, when if they just returned it normally it would be done.

Hope this does not happen to you.
As for the address, po box etc....No risk and no real cost but to each their own...

Like you shouldn't have to negotiate that much with a customer just to get one sale.
