Private Listing Option Removed..
 

12/7/18 - Logged into Inkfrog to revise a listing, doubled checked to make sure the Private Listing was set to Yes as it has been and NOW can't find that option anywhere.

1 minute later Logged directly into ebay accounts to revise listing to see if the option was there as well and same thing, it is NO longer an option....anybody else seeing this???

I'll go check now. Most of our listings are private. Only difference it makes is private listings don't show the item name in seller feedback.

thnx phaz.....Right....But the latter part(seller feedback per item) my understanding is once this Box is ticked when listing or from what i've experienced is that any feedback regardless if positive or neg will not show the item in reference... but the checkbox is not there anymore as of this morning...hmmmm.

Yep, you're right about the postive/neutral/negative feedback not showing the item the buyer is leaving feedback for when it's a private listing.

I would guess they are phasing it out because the concept of private listings/feedback isn't compatible with the catalog system they are transitioning to. Feedback comments that aren't attributed to an item listed on eBay are useless, really.

I just checked on one of my accounts and I can confirm the option is gone. I'm curious how this will play out since one of our accounts has 100+ private listings. I wonder if the item titles will start showing in our feedback profile all of a sudden.. or what..

thnx for confirming..i thought the cold medicine i took last night was playing tricks on my mind this morning lol...but that's my thoughts exactly "what about the listings already tagged prior to this change"...we'll have to see how this plays out.

that would not be good since i no longer subscribe to the terapeak monthly/yearly fee and just stick to the normal way of finding trending items..

[UPDATE] eBay has added the Private Listing box back but Inkfrog has not as of yet. Not sure if Inkfrog syncing will override the original listing details if created in Ebay first and then managed from Inkfrog..

After further review heres what i've discovered...

creating the listing in eBay allows the Private Listing Box to be checked. However, i am using Inkfrog to manage the listings. What i am finding is that Inkfrog is overriding any "Private Listing" codes done in eBay.

I have been back n forth with Inkfrog's wonderful staff who had NO CLUE that this was happening and finally said their developers have confirmed that eBay is not allowing 3rd party apps to allow checking off the Private Listing option all of a sudden

i found that hard to believe but cant beat city hall. Soooo what i've done is monitor how Inkfrog makes changes to my listings WITHOUT making any changes manually within Inkfrog and AGAIN they are overriding the code in eBay...Im about done with Inkfrog and looking into another alternative
