Anyone familiar with GMX e-mail service?
 

I logged into an e-mail of mine (GMX e-mail) and opened a few messages from eBay that included pictures (Not as attached files, but as embedded pics in the message). These e-mails were sent to user-x.


The above happened while I was working from within a user-account dedicated to user-y.


Anyone familiar with the GMX mail service and whether the embedded images in these e-mails got hosted on my computer or a cloud?

They won't link you just by that. It would be an even weaker link than logging into your account with the wrong IP, if it creates any link at all.

Right click one of the photos, go to properties, and see what URL the image is hosted at. If it's still an eBay URL then the image wasn't rehosted by your email client.

Don't worry about it. In future disable images in GMX settings upon creating the GMX account if you're worried

yahoo and yandex have images blocked by default, if you don't want to hassle with all the spam from gmx and or web.de

yeah, surprised me as well, but i had to try it as gmail didnt accept my numbers and yandex blocked all my IPs, while outlook closed my accounts for no obvious reason and wanted that i add a VCC, lol never..

and i am REALLY surprised to say that.. yahoo works really good..

gmx.de (not the .com version) is the best email provider I have found so far... up to 22 separate emails per account can be created, and it's easy to forward emails to a provider that blocks images by default (like Gmail). You will need a German IP address to register however.

google voice is only for US and GMX.de only for German IPs

@parsierngue wow that is some unique point for them! do they still have these spam-mail "sh*t you really need to care about" newsletters everyday like web.de?
