eBay Throttling

Hello there,

I have a question that I have not seen asked before here but is a topic that I hear a lot about on youtube with no valid answers.

I have been selling on eBay for 10+ years. Recently, 2 months ago I decided to try drop shipping. Everything was going great and was making a ton of sales.

Around December 10th all my listings on both my dropshipping listings and regular listings were all sent to the last page on eBay, they would always be on the first page. Every single listing is last. Even new listings go to the last page.

Sponsored listings are not working either. Even though I sponsored all listings with 1% over trending, the listings show up last and not with the sponsored emblem or in the sponsored box.

I am going crazy here looking for a way to get this fixed as this is my full-time income. All this happened when because I started to drop ship and I went from 5-20 sales a day to 0. I did connect an API (DSMTOOL, AUTODS, and TRACKERBOT). Since then I disconnected all of them from my eBay and removed all Dropshipping listings from my account. Please help me.

Thank you!

What do your listings say under # of days for delivery?

Re: eBay Throttling

Did you fall below standard? Did you recently have a spike in problems? Late shipments? What is your handling time?

All ridiculously important these days, especially around the holidays.

Re: eBay Throttling

Handling time on all listings is 2 business days. Shipping time is 2-3 business days. My seller metrics are damn near perfect, I will actually qualify as TRS this upcoming review. 1 defect in total on my account (for canceling). 3 late shipments. 0 cases open. 100% positive feedback. Thanks!

Harsh reality is you'll have to make new dropshipping accounts when they are throttled. Would imagine the biggest culprit is shipping from various locations. Not even large wholesalers have more than 2 or 3 warehouses which I'm sure Ebay uses as a determining factor.

Looks like you found your problem.

Thanks for your responses. I did not state that I ship from different locations, but I'm guessing a bot picked that up. I was hoping someone maybe found a solution as there is one youtube guru that claims he found the fix, but his course cost $1000.

Re: eBay Throttling

change your handling times to one day...... Go from there.

So I bought an account on here and sales suck, after reading above comments I went and looked an handling time said 3 days, so I am editing my 30 listings to one day, will see if sales pick up, live and LEARN.

Re: eBay Throttling

Your account was flagged for dropshipping, plain and simple. If you look through the threads on here over the past couple of months, it's clear that eBay made a search algorithm change which identifies and "ghosts" dropshippers.

Honestly unless you stop uploading tracking for all your orders on eBay I think this will keep happening. There's a guy who dropships our products and he's told me the only way he can get decent sales is by marking all orders on eBay as "shipped" without uploading tracking. He says that if he uploads tracking it becomes clear that he's dropshipping, so he quit doing it. Naturally this opens you up for tons of issues with customers saying they haven't received their order.. you've just got to decide if it's worth it.

EDIT: not you Kajun. I was replying to OP.

EDIT #2 : Please don't pay the YT "guru"/con artist.

Re: eBay Throttling

I mean I guess you could technically have a team of people all across the US listing and selling using one account.

It's when the listing's location and the location of the tracking number acceptance scans don't match would be my guess.

Re: eBay Throttling

I have shipped for 4 years with a shipping location of Dallas Texas and scanned shipped from Pensacola Fl, so I doubt if that is it. Another account shipped from Wisconsin, tracking shows shipped from Pensacola. None of my accounts are located in Florida and all ship from scans are Florida.

Yea... I think almost all stealth accounts would qualify for a mismatch of listing location and acceptance scan location.

I think it's the accounts that have a boat load of these mismatches from a lot of different locations that flag the account. Maybe for manual review, and then throttling. Really impossible to say what it is.

Re: eBay Throttling

OP,

Your account has been flagged. This has NOTHING TO DO with mismatched location. As long as you enter Multiple Locations in item location field you should be fine. Once you connect any DS tool to eBay's API you are basically ****ed ... You have about 25-30 days until your account becomes practically useless. It's like a ticking time bomb once you connect your DS tools to their API. Long story short, ebay is flagging accounts through their API.

Camaro2SS is right, it has nothing to do with multiple locations.

If you read the Ebay API agreement, you'll see that EVERY repricer tool out there violates that agreement.

Only solution i found is either BULK list and get decent sales or just have a manual store and use the good old File exchanger haha

Yep. DSM killed my ebay . Even though I just used it as a listing tool and had all the stuff I sell on hand.

Re: eBay Throttling

Somebody should post about this on social media or something so dropshippers will know what happened to their account.

The only problem with your theory is that all my packages are shipping out of KY and my accounts are from every part of the country so all my accounts would be flagged as drop shipping according to your theory BUT I am having record January sales on all but one active account.

Or am I not understanding what you are saying?

Kajunrook 01-15-2019 01:02 PM

Re: eBay Throttling

Why not just buy 100 of your top selling items and list them all shipping from your location. Or tell me what they are and I will do that and let you know how it worked. LOL

I guess not lol. You're doing exactly what I'm doing. Shipping all your packages from one place while using multiple accounts spaced out throughout the country.

My dropship guy is doing the opposite. Using one account but having packages ship from all over the country.

It's a moot point anyway if it's dropship plugins causing all these problems for users here.
