Local VS Public IP address?

I always connect using ExpressVPN (Using different servers for different accounts). Each servers gives me a different public IP. WebRTC leakage is automatically blocked via ExpressVPN.

I was googling a bit and came by this website:

https://www.whatismybrowser.com/dete...cal-ip-address

I noticed that my local IP address is sometimes the same even though I connecting through different VPN servers.

Do you think the accounts will be linked because of this local IP address?

Re: Local VS Public IP address?

No, because hundreds if not thousands of users will have the same local IP address. They always start in 192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x depending on how your local network is configured. Most of the time the router's IP (your default gateway) on your home network is 192.168.0.1. Then the 1st device you connect via wifi will have 192.168.0.2, the 2nd will get 192.168.0.3, and so on. So tons of users have the same local IP.

If you're worried about it, just disable webRTC and they won't be able to detect your local IP anymore.

Thanks a lot for the input. I've just finished reading about this. You're 100% correct. Luckily I was always using ExpressVPN before I connect and that has automatically always disabled WebRTC for me

Re: Local VS Public IP address?

Disabling it in your browser directly would still probably be safer. If you blocked the protocol (webRTC) outright, you wouldn't have to worry about expressvpn blocking it for you. It's easy to do in firefox config.
