Paying eBay fees

I wanna know how many of you are still able to pay your ebay fees automatically through PP?

If you don't, what payment methods do you use?

I think that the safest (yet inconvenient) way is to buy a Vanilla Gift card and use that.

Re: Paying eBay fees

I'm still paying all of my fees manually with paypal through the "one time payment" option on eBay, except for on my merchant account eBay. I usually pay fees a couple times weekly on all my accounts that are selling.

In the past when I had a PP limited I had to pay fees with a Vanilla GC but that was a few years ago. I think I've seen some threads on here recently with users saying eBay won't accept their prepaid gift card for selling fees. I haven't tested it myself in a while though.

If you're using a business account you can add your business debit card to your eBay account. I did that with my merch-acct-attached eBay and I just let that one automatically charge each month.

Hmmm... then maybe on some accounts that can't use PP to pay since they are only allowing me to withdraw to my bank, I can just send them a money order or so when they bill me.

But I'll try the one time fee option first though.

Re: Paying eBay fees

In theory, paying with prepaid cards should better in terms of security.
I am thinking that if the transactions go at one direction from ebay Yo PP, I suspect that ebay would know anything about you apart from mail adress.
Yes I know they are partner company may share many information for security but I also my doubt about the degree of information and the occasions their cootdination.

We hear that many forum members use their their existing PP with a different email even tough their ebay Associated to that is burned.
However, if you pay your eBay fees with PP more info goes from PP to ebay and when your eBay is burned it is high likely that your PP will too.

As I said it is just a newbee thinking. Because of this I am looking for an option to pay my ebay fees with a VCC.
What do you think?

This just happened to me.
Just got a quick question.
Im in canada so the gc would be in cad if storebought and my stealth is a usa account, would the giftcard still work?

Re: Paying eBay fees

Yeah I am paying 3 of my ebay accounts with personal credit cards, all cc were banned on paypal, so that is kinda funny. The other two paypals allow me to pay fees with Paypal balance. 2 of the three I cannot pay shipping with paypal and that sucks big time, have to use funds from attached bank to pay shipping. So they (paypal) are all over the board.

It should work. I use USD PP balances all the time to pay eBay fees due in CAD. Paypal charges a conversion fee but the payments always go through no problem.

Let us know how it goes..

Just use pirateship or any other provider. You're probably big enough to justify spending $16 a month on a stamps.com account but if you're not, there are plenty of free alternatives that let you pay for postage with a CC.

You're making things unnecessarily hard on yourself by paying for shipping through PP.

Yes it should but also remember that some cards charge foreign conversion fees of 2% or so which are hidden

Re: Paying eBay fees

Once they insist on the ID check, you can still pay through PP, but you have to use your bank to fund the payment.

They'll let me transfer to the bank and then pay that way, but not directly from PP. It's really a huge pain.

You can buy Vanilla Gift card to pay or ask someone to send you the funds. If you cannot get hold of any gift cards.

ebay pulled out the balance from my PP even with the "claim it now", i thought we couldn't pay ebay fees using our PP balance but it worked!

A lot of people on the forum have been saying the same thing. I'm curious how it's going to play out moving forward. Either users will slowly start losing the ability to pay fees with PP balance, or Paypal will continue allowing sellers to pay fees with Paypal balances until the Adyen rollout is finalized.

:noidea:

There's other ways but I hear you.. it would be a huge hassle. Users on here are already saying that eBay has started rejecting prepaid GC's for fee payments.

What's the country of your Ebay account?

Re: Paying eBay fees

All my accounts with the claim it let me pay my ebay fees using my pp balance. Have yet to encounter an issue. I know others are having issues, and i might have them eventually as well, but as if right now we are talking around 30 accounts with the claim it all letting me pay nu fees.

Also used a vanilla gc to make a one time payment a few times in the last couple weeks. Payment went through with no problem.

If there is a problem, maybe try adding the zip to the card?
