HUGE Influx of 0 Feedback Bidders and no way to stop them!

This is INSANE! I have relisted the same item 3 times now and every time at the last second a zero feedback scammer places a $5,000 bid. This is ridiculous! There is now no option to block a bidder that does not have a PayPal account so these people are creating ⊗⊗⊗⊗ accounts and just bidding like crazy to screw over other sellers. I expect it is a rival seller that is doing it. Is there any way to stop it? They are bidding at the last two second of the auction so I cannot cancel their bids in time. It is SO freaking annoying!

You know control the bidders on your listings. I am pretty sure you can set them to have at least 1-5 (or so) feedbacks before being able to bid on your items

Viewing the list of blocked buyers

You need to set this somewhere in your requirements

No you can't for zero feedback bidders. It only allows -1 and lower

When I have expensive items up for auction, my listings clearly indicate to contact me first BEFORE you place a bid or it's subject to being canceled.

I leave a window open on the Cancel Bids and Block Bidder List (BBL) pages, and immediately cancel those zero feedback users and add them to the BBL in one motion.

I am especially vigilant in the last few minutes/seconds of the auction looking for any undesirable bids as well. This does take some extra work, but if the item is high priced, I am a lot more picky and careful who I sell to.

Well you can also send a second chance offer to second and third place bidders etc. I sell a lot of stuff to second chance bidders.

I agree, most zero FB bidders are a pain in the butt.

The only sure-fire way to prevent that is to do what BigCJ suggests above and use only BIN listings with immediate payment required. That will solve 99% of your issues.

Wouldn't it be something to get a 'max bid' option in listings.

How about shipping signature option for buyers as well.

Variation listings with separate weight inputs would be nice too. Large shirts weigh more than small, Ebay, you twats.

Re: HUGE Influx of 0 Feedback Bidders and no way to stop them!

The other thing you can do is set a reserve, but at least on the items I sell, my buyers tend to avoid my listings if a reserve is set, or message me asking what it is.

eBay just needs to allow the option in settings to NOT allow those account that are 0 feedback to bid. An eBay rep told me years back that the reason they don't allow that is simply beecause they want to give new users a chance and don't want sellers selectively screening them out.

It seem to me it would be an easy matter to develop a tool that automates the process of canceling a 0 FB user as soon as a bid is placed and adds them to the BBL. I can see this could be probably done using eBay's API. I know an indian developer quite well and might broach this with him.

If that were to be possible, I wonder how many members here in the forum would be interested in such a tool?
