Listing an item in a diff category

Im not sure if this works. But lets say theres this item, your only allowed to sell one a month. If you sell more youll be suspended. Trying a total diff category to list this item. Would this still make your account toast?

If eBay catch you they will have an issue with it and can limit the accounts

Do you really think your the first to think of this? Expect a repercussion once they catch you. Might not get caught right away, but it will happen. They have rules for reasons, and typically have pretty good safeguards in place to catch those who think they are smarter than the system.

From eBay guidelines:

"Items should always be listed in the correct category. If you've reached your monthly selling limit for a certain category, you shouldn't list items in the wrong one, as it violates our Search and browse manipulation policy."

I've done this in similar categories without a problem. In fact, eBay allows you to choose you to list your item in two different caregories.

Obviously, you shouldn't be listing a collectible>pottery item in the electronics>phones section.

Yes, it works, but not a good idea. How many times do you go over the speed limit a year. Daily, every other day, weekly? Do you get a ticket every time. No, but when you do it effects you in multiple areas of life for quite some time. Not advisable.

Re: Listing an item in a diff category

I do list items in similar categories quite routinely, but only for some items and never had an issue.

They are similar categories, not totally different. For example, don't put an iPhone in the fashion clothing category, etc.

Would say you run a high risk since search results can show a mix of different categories.
