More changes for sellers !!!

The new changes announced (not yet implemented) have a lot of changes to how an eBay seller can sell.

There will be minimum standards for ALL sellers. This will make it particularly hard for small time sellers - if you only get 20 feedbacks a month and you get a DSR score of 1 or 2 from just one of your customers you are already below the Minimum standards of between 3 and 4% depending on which category.

From the 22nd September eBay are doing away with Bold, Highlight and Featured Plus (and for most sellers Featured First) - eBay are trying to put more emphasis on best matched than sellers throwing money at increasing views.

You will be able to use Featured First if you are "Top Rated Seller" and this is just an improvement on the Minimum Standards - instead of between 3 and 4% of 1 and 2 DSRs you only have between 0.5 and 2% and you must be a Powerseller.

what do you guys think about this ?

Seems to me as though ebay is trying to do away with the little guy and those selling VERO. I just gotta believe that if you're selling legit products, provide excellent customer service, and deliver..... you can still be successful! I'm not saying that I like the changes but if I want to / choose to do business on ebay then you must roll with the changes.

thats very true proudpapa,

but it just seems to be getting harder for the little man

yeah, i don't think it's fair. it's hard on the little guys, it seems that ebay wants the big sellers to get bigger and bigger.

DogFacedBoy 07-30-2009 05:36 PM

Seems pretty stupid to squeeze out the little guys...that is the backbone of ebay, the little guys that don't do enough business to building an online store or website
But since when has ebay done anything that seemed to make sense?

idiotbay 07-30-2009 07:20 PM

haha yeh thats right. Well ebay should remember what its all about, a market where everyone gets to trade, no matter how big or small you are. Thats what made ebay successful, now they seem to forget this.

Burst 07-30-2009 08:39 PM

Yet again, more hoops that sellers will have to jump to please ebay.

philly387 07-30-2009 09:56 PM

But guess what...we are all going to work through it :)

nobody999 07-30-2009 10:07 PM

when is ebay holding it's next big conference??? sellers should voice their opinons there.

biglouis999 07-31-2009 06:51 PM

I foresee a lot of crafty feedback farming from those who hesitated before. In a system that is so deeply flawed and rotten to the core where is the incentive to be honest?
