| topnotchsports | 02-26-2019 05:04 PM | eBay Spring Seller Updates Got an email on all accounts about the Spring Seller updates today. After PayPal's update I was holding my breath. From what I can see, it doesn't seem too drastic. What's everyone's thoughts? |

topnotchsports | 02-26-2019 08:07 PM | Re: eBay Spring Seller Updates All fixed priced listings will be GTC. No more 3,5,7,10,30 days fixed priced listings (USA) |
yankee | 02-26-2019 08:11 PM | Re: eBay Spring Seller Updates that really sucks. guess more auctions |

The only cool thing I saw was that there will be an "send offer to watchers" option coming |

SaiJin | 02-26-2019 08:59 PM | Re: eBay Spring Seller Updates Hmmm... fixed price changed to GTC, that's rather retarded.
So we have to use Auction + bin now? I don't think we can even have multiple qty for auction + bin, could we? |
Jennifer91 | 02-27-2019 01:57 AM | Re: eBay Spring Seller Updates So you're telling me eBay is leaning towards Amazon Style? Gotcha. |

Happy/sad sales taxes are here and automatic.
Offers to watchers sounds like constant spam unless there's a cooldown timer. Should help branding if it's the case. |

Should help branding if it's the case. | The way they have it worded on the updates page, it's seeming like only a very small handful of sellers in certain categories will have the option to send offers to watchers. At least when the feature is first being rolled out. I'm guessing they want to monitor how it's used so they can make sure it doesn't turn into a spam fest.
I don't see any majorly negative aspects of this update..
All fixed price will be GTC - good, never saw the point of a fixed price listing that ends in 3 days anyway.
More state sales taxes auto applied - Ok. They already started doing that for a few states and it hasn't been too drastic. At least they're auto-adding it into purchase prices and not forcing us to owe sales tax to multiple states
New (other) will be changed to New (open box) - Well, good, that's probably a little more accurate in most cases
Ability to download sales reports - haven't we always had that ability in some form? |
Sunspot144 | 02-27-2019 09:43 AM | Re: eBay Spring Seller Updates Yee... got the invitation but too lazy to try it out.. probably more work than it's worth... selling more for less, meh... |
Sunspot144 | 02-27-2019 09:49 AM | Re: eBay Spring Seller Updates Meh... take it back a little.. bump up your price then offer the original.. some people go crazy when they see the word sale and think they're getting a steal.. heh |

| A HUGE bump in visibility. That is why. I sell more than 5x the amount of items on short listings than I do GTC. Also, for many items, you really dont want that sale ticker showing you sold 10,000 of a certain item and attract attention. It really depends on the category and your completion of course. |
SaiJin | 02-27-2019 10:48 AM | Re: eBay Spring Seller Updates Well, GTC tend to be buried in the rest of the listings.
At least fresh listings pops up first and when it almost ends it refreshes. |

At least fresh listings pops up first and when it almost ends it refreshes. | Good point. I have noticed older GTC listings seem to lose their traction over time. Maybe you'll have to start intentionally ending GTC listings just to relist and make them "fresh" again. |

Do you know the cost of GTC vs 3,5,7 days fixed price?
Any difference?

agent006140 | 02-27-2019 01:07 PM | Re: eBay Spring Seller Updates GTC could cost you if you have used up your free listing eg 200 listings. |
agent006140 | 02-27-2019 01:08 PM | Re: eBay Spring Seller Updates as for the offer features, buyer can go to her preference and choose not to receive such. |
