Ebay and Fitbit

I have been selling SE'd fitbits for a while now, on ebay. But I am scared that I will get suspended if I keep going. I have been using this account for since before December. So I have no 21 day hold and I have high limits. Is it a problem if I list 10 or more Versa fitbits for 80$? They will most likely sell a few a day. Please tell me a recommended amount to sell, or if I should stay away from Fitbit. Currently have 1 out of 3 ionics listed remaining.

Yes, just list them up.

I don't know how many you've sold on this account so far but the account is over 90 days old so it should be able to handle $800 in sales over a couple of days.

I can't believe that years later Fitbit is still allowing this to happen. Seems like it would be really easy to stop the problem overnight if they wanted to. Maybe Fitbit is using this scam as a tax write off. Lol.

They dont care about a few fitbits if they make over 200$ for a cheap arse watch

It's not a few though. It's hundreds per month. I know their profit margin is outrageous but still, why would they continue to allow this to happen when they know what's going on? It's just weird. I kind of think they allow it to happen as a way of increasing tax write offs/reducing reported profits. Why else..

It could be that, but it methods are constantly being patched so its getting more and more difficult to SE them. Maybe one day they will have everything patched.

what does "SE'd" mean? Or is it just a fitbit model?

Social engineered. Obtaining fitbits through a warranty type scam, claiming they're broken and fitbit send refurbed ones out to you. Very well known scam.

I wouldn't worry about eBay, rather would worry about the FBI starting an investigation, might sound dumb but it wouldn't be uncalled for.

I see that the really cheap fitbits are listed as used, perhaps that will work better for you if you listed yours like that.

You're talking about a big fitness tracker company, doing repairs/rma just take too long and they don't want customers waiting, it's the same reason why any company sends the product replacement first besides it, number one reason is they can afford it, its the same reason some ppl on ebay rather refund ppl that report items bad than sending back and waiting for a refund.

lol. Stealth doesnt mean total anonymity....:brushteeth:

They have investigated and caught sellers who have done much less.

Dont assume anything.

Those investigations are like 1/1000. Even in amazon, I just heard 1 case per year. Or 1 just missed them.

@OP, best to start building up backups and rotating sells as a plan B

I actually knew someone who was doing this on a large scale to a single address (yeah, stupid) and got caught with 60+ when the FBI showed up. They were only interested in where he was getting his accounts. Of course they confiscated his fitbits and warned him but since he wasn't the one hacking the accounts, they didn't seem to care as much as you'd think.

Probably because it's not illegal to take advantage of a stupid company who's willing to send out hundreds of free units without requiring proof that a unit was even bought by the customer they're sending to in the first place.

I think it's a combination of the fact that they can afford it and this is the easiest way for them to resolve legitimate warranty claims, while also reducing their profitability.

I would recommend increasing your sales "slowly".
