Can ebay check company registration number?
 

I have switched my stealth account from individual to business.

Can I put made-up company registration number? Can they check it somehow?

Hi eBay will not check that i have 8 account for more then 1yers old not problem so far.

That member just joined the forum. I'd take their advice with a pinch of salt.

I agree with tinsoldier here. They can, and they probably will during a manual review.

Why do you need to put up the number in the first place? Is it a requirement for the eBay country you're based in? There must be a workaround.

From my experience, I feel like those accounts with more information put in, get less restrictions and suspensions and gets higher limits than those which just get turned to business accounts without any business-related information provided.

When you create your stealth accounts in UK, do you provide your company registration number?

It is like your personal ss#. eBay doesn't use it but PayPal does. So it won't matter the most of time unless they put a review on you.

been selling on ebay for over 20 years,never recall any seller being asked ?
there are many brick and mortar stores selling on Ebay,I dont recall anyone being asked,some have folded and started selling on EBay from home with whatever merchandise left,Ebay never check to see if the company is still alive and have a storefront?
Paypal is different because of the risk involved,if a merchant has defaulted on his debt obligation,like closing his bank account linked to his merchant account so any chargeback cannot withdraw fund from his bank account,Paypal may not want his business.

If the company number can be verified online (for example UK) - I wouldn't risk entering a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ number.
Unless, you have nothing to lose and just looking to test what works and what doesn't.

So what will be the solution ? I have a stealth account and I would like to go for business to get a store, make discount and also promoted listed. It cannot be done without a company in ebay France.

sounds like France is different,you will need to come up with what they ask for.
