Using eBay on Android - How important are updates?

I've been researching Android devices to use for solely operating an eBay stealth account. Just need something with a decent camera (ideally with a telephoto lens, low light performance doesn't matter) and can run the eBay & Amazon apps without issue long term.

I was thinking about the Moto G6 but it doesn't run stock Android. Is this a real concern? Will I likely be able to use this phone 3 years from now to list on eBay and Amazon if the phone manufacturer stops updating the phone's OS? I'm primarily an iOS user so I'm not sure how eBay and Amazon deal with updates on Android but on iOS sometimes you can't use the app anymore once you are out of date by too many versions.

It is actually not recommended to use the eBay app if you're running with stealth accounts.

if it's a new phone that you have never used before, then yes, you can do it.

you can also get a very cheap chromebook.

How laggy is a chromebook? I'm using a pretty powerful macbook pro and parallels running windows 8 and it's laggy as hell. I figured ebay mobile app would be more lightweight.

Don't make this harder than it has to be. A smartphone is a computer. I'm still using an old pre paid lg tribute that came out 6 years ago for my 1st stealth. Still working fine. Still takes decent enough pictures. Ancient ebay and PayPal app layout but no issues. I never worry about updates and what not. The only worry ive ever had is making sure never to connect to my home wifi which is linked to a burned account.

Chromebook is cheap and you get what you pay for.

I think another option is just go online and try to get used computers and flush the OS.

If it works, it works I guess. Would sure not be my recommended setup.

Do you connect them to wifi or pay for 4g service on each one?
