eBay + Gmail = Trap
 

One wrong click, you are falling into eBay's trap!

They added a feature of automatically sign you up with your gmail information on Home page. I thought it was my gmail page and clicked my email icon on the right corner...the next thing I knew I signed up a new account with ebay again!!! Just one click...OMG

It's nothing to do with Chrome. You can register an eBay account via the Gmail link on any web browser.

OP, if I remember this right, they ask you to confirm that you want to share your information with eBay before anything is actually done. So I guess you clicked that too?

So can anyone share how they monitor their accounts progress without log in to it? I use Gmail and third party apps. It was time consuming if you have to log into your actual account every time.

Yes it's time consuming to login and check your accounts. You're compensated for your time in the form of profits.

Switch to thunderbird for your gmail accounts if you're concerned about gmail leaking info to eBay.

There was a very small print at bottom which no one reads. It only takes one click though on your gmail log. They made so similar when you switch your gmail account to click one of account icons.

Yes this happened to me a week ago. I clicked sign in and it made a new ebay account. Not cool.

Nah its not a trap you just need to use your eyes
