Same IP for Two Stealth Accounts
 

I created a stealth account and realized it would take too long to season, so I'm considering purchasing a seasoned account. Does anyone know if I can use the same IP for the stealth account I purchase?

Using the same IP you would link the purchased account with other you used with the same IP.

A serious line of business ould be to buy an account with a reliable VPN attached so the IP of that account will not change.

Ditto to Phaz, keep separate user accts and Ip usually will not link you as more and more people are using the same ips.

I know.. it's hilarious watching you have to defend yourself despite the fact that your accounts are running fine and presumably have been for a good while.

All it takes is one reputable member saying something is a stealth no-no. Then it's picked up by other reputable members who start repeating what the original person said, then it's sometimes even added into the stealth guide, and then we're left with disinformation for the public. The forum having products for sale that work in place of TOR probably doesn't help the situation, lol.

So 1 dedicated fresh ip for multiple ebay accts but differenr user ids is ok?

They for sure have been linked on eBay's end. It's just all the other steps you are taking for separation measures.

And if everything remains adequately separated, I imagine if one account goes down, the other would remain untouched.

Or at least I hope so!

1. It is A link, is what I guess I'm trying to say. One. One thing that is linking an account to another, or multiple accounts.

2. Also nope. I have various accounts showing up as linked to me and NONE of them have the same selling limits.

Yeah it's a commonality between two or more accounts but for me it's never caused what eBay calls an actual account linkage. That's all I'm trying to say.

And 2) I guess you're right. I haven't had linked accounts since 2013 so I was going by what I remembered. Back then I could've sworn they applied the selling limit of whichever account had the lower limit to both.

2013 is actually when mine we linked. All with different amounts, though.

Sure it can work out, IP won't be the only factor of linkage, but it's my job to advise people to do everything the RIGHT way from the start.

I'm always looking for a long term solution, and I don't mind spending the extra $80 / year when my gains will be bigger and for a longer period of time.

At the end of the day, it's your choice to do something that works or something that works flawlessly.

At the end of the day, you're just as likely to be shut down for using a data center IP as you are for being linked to other accounts on the same data center IP. So make the most of your data center IPs while you're still able to do so.

Doesn't really take much time, just make 3-4accs every once in a while.

Technically you could get away with it, if you used two different user accounts on your computer or at least used different browsers or used the same browser and cleared your cookies each time.

They can't ban you on IP alone, just suppose you worked in a 10 thousand person office building. They all share the same IP address. If IP alone would ban people then eBay would have no sellers.

However, it is a pain in the a$$ and not worth the trouble

That's subjective. For me it's worth the minor PITA of turning on a VM in order to save $1100/yr on VPN costs lol.

some day we will be asked to show up in person at the local police station with proper IDs and fingerprints.
and instead of IP address,fingerprints will be verified.

That's very 20th century sounding.

It'll probably be like : we will all have an IPv6 address assigned to us at birth which will be printed on your birth certificate and tied to the rest of your identity. You'll be expected to use your personally assigned IPv6 address for everything and won't be able to access any of your accounts unless you're using it.

We will have microchips implanted in to us that will be scanned to gain access to everything.

Carelessly linked two accounts with the same IP. In a panic I was reading through old threads to calm myself down.
