Am I allowed to resell cookies?
 

If I buy branded cookies from the supermarket and resell them for a profit, is this allowed? Would I need a license to resell branded products?

I know on eBay you can sell it but on Amazon, you need permission. What if I was selling it on my own site?

The reason why its advised against selling branded items is because a lot of them are high risk. This risk comes from the possibility that the product may be potentially counterfeit. Now if there aren't counterfeit versions of it around, then it's not necessarily high risk. So technically, not all branded items are high risk.

I've seen people sell Cadburys chocolates on eBay. I very much doubt those are counterfeit. So selling cookies, I think you'll be fine. :)

I have sold a box of chocolates someone gives me as a gift on Ebay,never open.
But selling edibles could be risky,if the buyer gets sick .
If I were the manufacturer,I would not like individuals selling my items unless he is a retailer who bought them from legit wholesalers or direct from my factory,if buyers get sick,it would give me a bad name,I may be asked to issue recall and it is costly to do so.

ask yourself,have you ever been sick from eating something?
It also makes no difference,all he has to say is that he ate your cookies and get sick and it will be in the news if it is serious illness.
it also gives Ebay a bad name,not that Ebay has a great name

I was searching for cadbury chocolate on Ebay and found a seller from UK selling such,he registered as a business seller,and his feedback file has 3 negs,one said instead of sending chocolate,he sent eyewipes/eyedrops??two said they never receive their chocolate,makes you wonder if he is really a retailer in the confection business ?

agent006140, I think in Brooklyn there are a couple shops that sell this stuff from UK.

ithelps: yes you can buy cookies at the supermarket and sell them if you want but you will lose money.

Maybe we lost our eBay accounts because we are buffoons?

This kinda reminds me when people were reselling twinkies.

I don't have experience selling food because it's health related and I stay away from it, but maybe we can get those members who were making millions on Twinkies to share their experience? =D

There are vintage campbell soups in cans for sale as collectible items,whoever buy it should not keep in food pantry .

When selling branded items I think its probably a good idea to check with the company just to be sure. I tend to be overly cautious though. Read to many online sales related horror stories.
