Bypass eBay Category Restriction
 

Hi is there a way to bypass Category restriction in software for new accounts?
If dont want to discuss it public .. pm welcome.
Will exchange knowledge about to create new no holds pp :-) no ssn and all that crap.

And theres no way around the new 'cash account' feature on paypal either. You give them the DOB+SSN or you learn to live with that feature and without the ability to send payments.

That's not a way around it friend.
You cannot use a non US based paypal with a US based ebay (or you can do so at great risk).
So going non US all the way is no big secret - but presents its own set of problems.

agree. i run non usa pp with usa ebay since one year no issue until now... i think its more about the setup. What account is connected .. which one pays fees ect...

No easy way around this.

I thought I could outsmart eBay once by listing an item in another category to get around a category restriction. It didn't work out too well; the listing was removed a short time later along with a 1 day suspension slap.

All depends I think ...

If your software is stand alone then no you can't. But say you bundled up one type of software with another type of item.

You hit the restriction on the category for the software. But you could then list in the other type of items category and say the software is being included.

If that makes sense ...

I did that with one of my listings (not software related) but I have to admit I am barely getting any views at all ... that's the problem.

I agree that the category restrictions on eBay are nowhere near as draconian as they would be on Amazon where you usually need to be "ungated" or pre-approved to sell some types of items.

Every time I read the Amazon sellers section I cringe and wonder why anyone would even bother with selling there in the first place.

What I did play around with a bit on some of my eBay listings was with the keyboards I used in both the title and description. There have been cases where I was able to sell an item that was previously removed for a "VeRO" doing that. BTW, that item was in the jewelry category, which to eBay is considered "high risk".

Software, electronics, jewellery, all the high value items. You need to prove you are fullfilling orders, customers are not disputing anything and then in time it goes away.

i offer as bundled, even sending out the hardware .. still get fuxxxx. eBay no brain employee have a robotic behavior. Selling on ebay it doesnt matter how much you follow their rules.. you get removed. Doing stealth / non stealth since 2006...

Thats why many advise here in the forum .. are still not accurate. Each time i give a useful advise/ information i get discredit for it.

Try not to feel that way. THere are people that do that without realizing what they are doing or they just believe their methods are correct.

At the end of the day, you shared your knowledge and it's up to the people if they'll use that to their benefit or not.

You did your part, now it's on them =)

Other than basic stealth principals that universally work for all. Everything else ... Some things work for one person but not another.

There's alot of ways for US residents, many countries such as mine actually accept U.S bank accounts, no SSN required i'm pretty sure.

And some good news ... marocco ebay accounts might bypass that restrictions. Since days i monitor few seller they have brand new accounts and can list. All of them from marocco.

Might they just get lucky .. or its based on the setup Ip.. i dont know.. who knows hehe
