today ebay told me i should pay 36% fee
my account is in Malaysia

Did you check their fee structure directly already and compare the % based on your summary?

Yup. It amazes me that people are responsible for shipping products to people, but can't figure out something as simple as what this seller is looking at. :confused:

we dont know how many itmes you have listed,it looks like you sold something and there is final value fee on the item you sold and final value fee for shipping as well.
you should go to My EBAY and see what you have sold,how many listings you have listed in the month and what is upgrade ??

you sold RM 149.67 and Ebay charges you RM 21.80 ,it comes to 14.57%.

And I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say the he is one of the sellers that are getting hit with that additional 4% FVF for poor service.

10% + 4%... looks close enough to me lol

I got a friend who has like 48% fees with pp and ebay due to the category he does sell in. I seen it a few weeks ago. Digital goods were very high for him.

They have pretty clearly outline the fees

Not sure what the question is? Maybe cut out the special duration fee? That would save you money

you cant lump Paypal fee with EBay fee,one is to process yourpayment and the other provides a place for you to sell and bring you the buyer?

4.4% plus 30 cents is Paypal cross border transaction.

if you sell too many $2 items,you may want to look into micro payment,6 cents transaction fee and 6%.

OP needs to learn how to sell on Ebay,special duration fee is not necessary,7 days would be fine.
some categories have no listing fee

OP is selling in a category belonging almost exclusively to fraudsters and con artists. Hence the exorbitant fees. If I were in your position OP, I'd be overjoyed that eBay and Paypal even allowed you to sell enough to rack up those kinds of fees.

You can cut out all the extra stuff you're paying for as others have pointed out, but at the end of the day you're profiting by selling something you paid $0 for, so I'd be happy with that.


I seriously doubt this guy's account is going to qualify for any kind of special rates from Paypal. The account probably won't even survive long enough to go through the application process.
