physical address for PO Box

I just got a PO Box today and the post office lady said that for a physical address, I can put my address with box at the end, (i.e. 123 business rd box 111 instead of PO Box 111). The issue I may run into is the 123 business rd address is my physical address which has been linked to a PayPal/ebay account. would adding the box 111 part to the end cause linkage?

Re: physical address for PO Box

A lesser known method that works is to use the STREET ADDRESS for the Post Office and put "Unit" and your POB # after the street address.

For example, if your PO Box is 4041, you would address your mail:

Your Name
123 Any Street Unit # 4101
Anytown, ST 00000-4101

Before you use this method, double check the address format using USPS's site and also confirm the zip+4 (last 4 digits of the zip code) since it can vary from one PO to another.

The lady at the post office said that they don't do that at my post office anymore. So, I don't have that option anymore.

As many of us here already know, don't pay any attention to what the employees at Post Office tell you. More than half the time they are full of crap anyway, and clueless how things really work.

It's a proven fact, as well as many sellers on this forum already use the street address of the Post Office to deliver to PO Boxes. I suggest you send yourself a test mailing to see for yourself.

Actually there are a lot of experienced sellers on this forum who have dealt with the USPS far more than I have, and they would know what I'm talking about.

Don't get me wrong, there are many fine folks that work for USPS, and you have to admit they do one heck of a job the vast majority of the time.

I just can't tell you the number of times I have been told something by a USPS employee that turned out to be either flat out incorrect, or against policy in some cases. This doesn't mean to say you don't believe anything they tell you, but to check into it yourself, if needed.

BTW, being able to use the street address of your local Post Office to deliver to PO Boxes is not only allowed, but USPS actually lists it as one of their free services. It's referred to as "Street Addressing". In fact, if you complete a FREE form, you can also accept FEDEX, UPS, DHL, and any other 3rd party carriers to your USPS PO Box. Yes, no kidding.

Here is the form:

I hope that helps you out.

This really does help me out, a lot in fact. I will definitely send a test letter to the address to make sure that it does work. I appreciate all the help!

Re: physical address for PO Box

In my experience, it's not available at all locations. If you go here, https://www.usps.com/manage/po-boxes.htm ... and type in your zipcode to look for available Boxes near you, the ones that say "PREMIUM PO BOX SERVICES" are the ones that allow Street addresses.

As always, this info on their website could be outdated though lol...

Wow. Our next closest PO is 20 miles away. You have tons of close-by options, ebs.

Yeah... and the weird thing is, I live out in the country. Outside of any town limit. But it just so happens to be between two towns.

So, I have 4 that I can be at in 10 minutes, and 10 I can be at within 15-20 minutes
