Unauthorized Item - Competitor reporting?

Has anyone had any issues with this lately? I have been getting random "unauthorized item " removals. These aren't by vero... They usually come between 3 AND 9 am PST in the morning. They will have random text like

"Limited selling history " or "Previously policy violation" etc...

I believe a competitor is reporting listings and then some overseas CS rep is reviewing them overnight or something and randomly removing the listings... It doesn't happen all the time, but recently i'm noticing an increase.

Again, not a vero removal.

Same issue ( limited selling history) it happen to me twice last week for 2 high risky items it was top brands women’s bag, my account is 2 month old, i think I have to overcome the 90 days and when the money is not in hold I will put such high value items (e.g Women’s bag) that what I have understood, I will have the confirmation soon
Please note is not competitor report because my item appear after 12 hours of listing, the removal has been done before the item release

Re: Unauthorized Item - Competitor reporting?

This is typical and the hours are pretty standard. Aside from the take downs in the morning from 3-9am PT, they also do a sweep in the evenings from 6-9pm PT as well.

These take downs seem to affect items that are associated with a higher than normal risk. As you said, they are not VeRO, but policy violations/unauthorized item removals.

top brand handbags, the designer can remove your list if he thinks yours is a counterfeit.
is it used or brand new?
There is a site which will verify your handbag

I sell used and 100% authentic only, counterfeit has no chance in such category in eBay

Re: Unauthorized Item - Competitor reporting?

Does anyone of you guys think that these recent removals have something to do with Trump targeting and ordering a thorough investigation of the role of eBay and Amazon in providing a platform for counterfeit products?

My gut is telling me eBay and Amazon are trying to clean house before that report is done in early October :-/

Re: Unauthorized Item - Competitor reporting?

I haven't encountered an increase of take downs like this. This sounds a little weird.
I'm not sure if eBay will be moved by what Trump says?

I myself have never heard of eBay sweeping the market for random removals!

OP is saying the removal message doesn't mention Vero at all, so it is safe to assume that the items were removed by eBay itself (which doesn't make sense tbh)

Re: Unauthorized Item - Competitor reporting?

I got 2 emails in last 2 days, one is Ebay removed an item because it is not antique, another is this morning of a lousy piece of sushi bazooka I bought on EBAY which the Singapore seller relied on a dropshipper in NJ,I dont need it so I relisted.
Here is Ebay notice-
The rights owner or an agent authorized to act on behalf of the rights owner, Hydraflow Industries Limited, notified eBay that this listing violates intellectual property rights. When eBay receives a report of this type of violation, we remove the listing to comply with the law.

We encourage you to contact Hydraflow Industries Limited directly if you have any questions.

Sometimes what works for other people won't work for you unless you keep changing your methods

They are located in New Zealand.

That sushi bazooka maker is one of their top quality items.

They manufacture many different consumer food items that get sold on the likes of eBay/ama on.

:shhh:

Re: Unauthorized Item - Competitor reporting?

It is ingenious forthem to come up with this bazooka, people love sushi ,esp california roll but hate to pay the price, last suggestion was to shove seaweed, rice and stuffing into an icecube tray compartment and dig it out and put it in your mouth.
so this bazooka shoot the whole roll out and slice and dice it.
It does not work well, thats why I AM getting rid of it.
will see if all the dropship bazookas have been removed on Ebay, there are tons of them, with stock photos.

Re: Unauthorized Item - Competitor reporting?

This isn't about vero... this is ebay policy removals. Here is an example.
After reviewing your eBay account, we've taken the following action:
- Listings have been removed. A list of items that were removed can be viewed at the bottom of this message.
- We have credited all associated fees except for the final value fee for your listing(s).
The listing or product that was removed appeared to violate eBay policy. Please remember that you are responsible for the quality and authenticity of the products that you offer on eBay. It is against eBay policy to sell any counterfeit items.

For more information please see our Replica, counterfeit items, and unauthorized copies policy:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/...unterfeit.html

If you have more questions, contact our policy experts:
http://ocsnext.ebay.com/ocs/cusr?query=1336&=PTB1208

- Past violations of policy- After careful consideration, your listing has been removed because it didn?t comply with our policies. We received a report concerning the authenticity of your item. These reports can come from a number of channels, for example law enforcement. This removal was for your safety and the safety of the eBay community, so please do not relist your item.Relisting your item may result in the restriction of your account. You may also consider these tips to help improve your listing:- Consider using eBay?s Completed Listing feature as a possible resource when deciding on a listing price: http://pages.ebay.com/help/search/qu...-listings.html

Please be sure your current and future listings follow these guidelines, keeping in mind that additional violations could result in the suspension of your account.

Here are the listings that were removed:

----

This listing has been on the site for about 6-8 months with a sales history like this.
EBAY ID SOLD WATCHES TIME LEFT
XXXXXX 379 301

I can say without a doubt. I've had no returns for this item or complaints.

i can to, but if you relist it and it goes down again... then you get a 7 or 30 day suspension. I have 25+ accounts, so i can move stuff around, but it gets so annoying. It's specific brands for sure, so someone must be doing some removals or it's ebay just doing that specific brand.

Re: Unauthorized Item - Competitor reporting?

I know exactly what Moscutter is talking about.

These are NOT VeRO removals, nor having anything to do with VeRO.

They are "policy violations" claiming the item is counterfeit. These listing removals always occur around the same time; once in the morning, 3-9am PT, then another in the evenings from 6-9pm PT. My guess is they are automated and are using some sort of algo to flag those listings that meet some type of criteria.

Again, this only applies to some types of items and categories. It doesn't matter if the item is 100% genuine, if the listing matches a set criteria, it will be removed.

This stuff started a few months ago and they seemed to ramped up in some categories; specifically in beauty/fashion, and collectibles.

Re: Unauthorized Item - Competitor reporting?

I used a stock photo for this sushi bazooka,I just found all the listings using the same stock photo are gone, but others with different pictures are still around.
so they must go by the photo,it comes from the manufacturer.

I can confirm mine were in the categories you mentioned and have been ongoing, i am trying some countermeasures. We'll see.
I definitely as mentioned, don't relist the same item on the same account again.

Is it ok if I ask you how do you handle returns for 25 stealth accounts?
