Why is there a link to ebay up top every page?
 

I got booted from ebay because they linked my account & now I'm here as a noob. I see I am not alone in my ebay troubles. I learned lots reading the forums so far & am grateful.

I was just wondering why the "Check My Listings At Ebay" banner is on every page of these forums? It may sound dumb, but couldn't ebay theoretically track IP's of the banner impressions served to visitors of these forums & scrutinize accounts accessed by those IP's later on? Should I be changing my IP before accessing ebay after I visit these forums? Just a thought...

i have wondered about that myself.

i'm afraid to click on it, plus i use a different computer when ever i am ebaying.

No eBay can not read IP address of banner impressions on this site... come on guys. The only way eBay will get your IP is when you actually click on the Banner and GO to EBAY.

Don't worry though; I plan on removing the ad soon.

can't knock you for having an ad on this site Aspkin. how much monthly profit could something like that bring in?

This forum isn't making any money. I'm new to forums, and I've noticed they're very hard to monetize. I have a couple things planned though, so maybe it'll work out better for me in a month or two.

Thanks guys. I'm glad this site is doing some good and helping people. I'm working on a couple things that should give value to the people donating and help pay for the server at the same time (sponsored membership); if only I didn't have 70+ other sites to deal with first. :)
