Mexican stealth, anyone tried it?
 

On Etsy people are getting around the SSI requirement by creating Mexican stealth accounts. Would this work for eBay and PayPal also?

if you tell Ebay you are in Mexico,what good does it do you?
where will your items be shipped is what your buyer cares.
also what is the return address?
if you tell PAYPAL you are in Mexico?
You can still link a US bank,but?and provide a Mexican address????????

Since Paypal is a US company,american expatriate in foreign countries can link his US bank account to his foreign Paypal account,as a courtesy to its US users.
It is no different for Paypal to access your US bank account like it does with all US Paypal accounts ,via ACH

But you may have problem with your shipping address,US or MEXICO.

You mean if a person claims he is in Mexico and open a Paypal account /MEXICO,Paypal would not ask for SSN and send 1099 if he exceeds 20k and 200 transactions?
may be it will work,I dunno,if Paypal does not ask proof of residence or citizenship or the MExican goverment does not care how many MExicans are making money selling on internet?

The is a common practice on Etsy and its done to get past the SSI requirement but Etsy no longer uses Paypal for payments. They don't ask for one for. I have been told you can still show your items shipped from the USA but i haven't actually looked that closely at it. You also have to use a Mexican IP.

Do I need a mexico bank also. Or can I just use mexico and pp ?

US expatriates can link US bank account when they are overseas,courtesy of Paypal.
so ifyou open a Mexican account,or German Account or Singapore account,you can still link your US bank account,but I dont know if you need a Mexican IP?

I am not sure how it will turn out,if you are US citizen or resident and you now have a MExican account to avoid giving your SSN BUT LINK A US bank account.
You will not get a 1099K,if thats so easy,we would all claim we are not in USA.

For ebay is easy make a stealth mexican account, you can use nordvpn to get mexican IP, it works.

I dont think Ebay cares where you are,but when you register as from MExico,dont you have t o give a MEXICAN ADDRESS?
yOU would still need a payment processor,Ayden or Paypal,
