Question about "Buying" with Stealth account
 

Hey everyone....I just read a post that said NOT to buy with your Stealth account ...and that Ebay and Paypal WILL know if you purchase something that is sent to the real address. Is this so? I sell way more than I buy, but still buy on occasion.:confused: I'm always confused:bounce:

If you make a purchase with you Stealth account you have to pay for it some how.
If you pay for it from your "real" paypal account...
POOF they now have your Stealth account connected to your real Paypal account.

OR even if you enter your "real" address into your Stealth Paypal account for the delivery of your purchased item then........
POOF they now have your real address connected to yoru Stealth Paypal account.

Once your enter ANY information into either a Stealth eBay or Paypal account that info is there forever.
You will be linked back to your original account that has probably been NARUed by now since you are here.

You can buy with a stealth account BUT you must ensure that the following is covered:

delivery address is in no way matched to an address that is associated with a suspended account.

payment for the item is made from a completely different funding source.

IMHO, this is where anyone being stealth creates their own problems. What you were (name, address,payment choices) can no longer be used. They can not exist to be successful in the stealth mode. [this does not address the internet side of the matter either]

uhh, i always buy with my stealth paypal accounts with no problem. I just make sure I contact the buyer before I buy offline and give him the shipping instructions. I tell them to ignore the paypal address and ship my real address.

I'm assuming it's ok if you have registered with an address which hasn't been used before due to moving house? My name is comletey different as well but it's ok becuse I'm the only one living here so I'm the only one who'll pick up the mail.

mine, yes new address is fine if it hasnt been on ebay system before, why not use your own name anyway.

If I could say there would be a 100% success rate I would agree. waterproof was asking for a working solution: he got advise that others think/know works TO MAINTAIN the stealth account. It would be too distressing for me if waterproof tried using his home address & lost the account. We both know that sellers can be a stupid as buyers. :peace:

Just have an account for buying only.... in my experience it is far easier to keep than a selling account, even with a previously linked and suspended address associated to it.

My real name has been used in another account. Doesn't the book teach you to provide Ebay with as little information about yourself as possible?

I try and use my real name (or at least variations of it) on all my accounts. As long as it is not a particularly unusual name you should be fine.

And it makes it a little easier to provide ID and such when the inevitable request comes.

well, I recently moved and my real new address hasn't been used with ebay or paypal before, however, my real name has. I just use variations of my real name when I buy, I have any usual name anyway that gets misspelled often anyway. I will never use my real address to register with paypal or ebay.

yes, but its just a name, well actually an initial and surname, with clean address, if not other links thats ok, plus then you can send in utility bill if limited, without doctoring

I was careless once and bought something with a stealth account and had it delivered to a suspended address AND name, and never had an issue..
I was either lucky (KNOCK ON WOOD) but I wouldn't do it again. :surrender:

tigerlord i've done the same thing and my goodness i'm scared! I just hope that this doesn't happen and i get suspended on this account as the feedback is great and growing strong and got 5 stars on each
