Buying Ebay UK account instead of Ebay USA account .....
 

I am a UK based person BUT with a Amazon FBA USA business and I want to sell on Ebay USA as Amazon can fulfill for me in USA

BUT

when I messaged a Ebay USA account re seller he said that I should get a Ebay UK account instead because

1. Ebay USA accounts were being shut all the time

2. If you list your item as being located in USA on Ebay USA your listing shows with no search penalty even though the isting is from a Enay UK account.

Is this correct or should I just purchase a USA Ebay account from a different seller

IS IT SAFE TO BUY AN EBAY.COM ACCOUNT OR IS THAT NO LONGER POSSIBLE

That is correct, although recently someone has told me that their items didnt rank as well in the US when using a UK eBay

My experience has always been that they rank the same but its possible that that has changed.

If you make your listings on ".com", accepting USD payments, with your item location set to a USA zip code, there shouldn't be any difference in terms of ranking on a US vs. UK account. Because the listing would look exactly the same.

Haven't done it on a UK account specifically but I have high ranking .com listings using accounts from different countries.

So with you being in UK I think it would be easier and just as effective for you to use a UK account. It's a huge hassle using USA accounts anymore.

Sorry can yu explain what exactly you mean by

You list directly on eBay.com

You set the item location as the US

Right, exactly what James said.

When you make listings you make sure you're logged into ebay.com and not ebay.co.uk. That will automatically set the currency to USD and give you access to US shipping companies in the shipping details part of the listing. You'll want to select whatever US shipping company you'll be using (assuming it's not Amazon logistics). Then at the bottom of the listing where it says "item location" you give the city, state, and zip code where your fulfillment facility is.

I can't give advice on listing software but this is easy to do on the website.

In response to the edit you made to the OP, I would say no it's no longer safe. At least compared to you using a UK account.

USA Paypal's can't even spend their balances anymore without verifying SSNs so if you were to use one, you'd have to withdraw all your money into a USA bank account. I would think that would just add an extra unnecessary level of complication and fees.

Do you really have an AMZN FBA account or are you just dropshipping from AMZN?
retail arbitrage is not allowed on Ebay ,if Ebay finds out.

Yes I am a major Amazon USA FBA media products company ..

AND yes I really do not like the whole drop shipping thing ...as we all know many of these people are complete cowboys who give the online shopping business a bad name with high cancellation rates late deliveries etc.

Ia m not against drop shipping per see its just that it attracts a lot a quick buck artists whose focus is not errrr customer friendly!!!

I have also used Amazon FBA but have discovered that the search rankings drop when the 'ship from location' does not match the tracking number, or so I have been told.

Not sure if you have also experienced this dramatic drop in search ranks (especially promoted listings). I have yet to find a work around for using FBA to sell on eBay...
