ebay gripe

Okay, let it be known that I absolutely hate all questions and messages from bidders. Most of the time, these idiots ask questions that are well covered in my listings. What I hate even worse, however, are those 'user information requests'...I definitely don't trust the morons who push the button on these. Well today, I experienced something I've never had before in my 6+ years on ebay: a 'user information request' from a bidder on an item that is currently up for bid. WTF?! The first two scenarios are, in my opinion, fair play (tho I still despise them) BUT requesting a member's user information when you haven't even won "JACK" is wayyyyy out of bounds. Doesn't ebay realize that they have now left it open for just about anyone to get your info just by putting a lame bid on your item? I started to write ebay but thought better of it...then I just cancelled the bid and blocked his a**.

Of course, all of my 'info' is ⊗⊗⊗⊗ anyway :D ...but the principle of it

Can a user actually get your information without bidding? That's somewhat scary.

Anyone can get your info by just placing a bid...which is ridiculous. ebay needs to not only close this loophole but they need to do away with divulging email addresses period. If people need to communicate they should do so thru ebay email. On my previously suspended ebay account the email address that I used gets so much spam, phishing and spoof emails it is beyond belief. And I just used this email for ebay purposes.

I disagree with having everything done through the ebay system. Some things you don't want going through there. Email is safer, and that's what spam filters are for. Never had a problem with it.

Last time I checked you had to win the bid to be able to get user info, not just bidding.

Nope, thats all changed now ebay-sucks
