It is going to be a very slow process, 2025 would not surprise me.

Re: When does ayden begin?

Full roll out for all members is July 2021

PayPal stops being an accepted option in July 2023

That is how is stands at the moment although these things do change.

I thought Paypal wlll always be an option for buyers, but not for sellers???????
As a seller I like Paypal,I can keep my balance in my Paypal account as long as I like and if I used my Paypal debit card to shop as credit card,I get 1 1/2% cash rebate from Paypal.

Off topic but did you need a business PP to get the cash back CC? Do you spend your PP balance as credit?

(Trying to see if it's possible to pay PP credit card balance with another cash back Cc on the PP account, no bank)

You get 1.5% from the debit car? I only get 1%.

Time to make a phone call, unless you're wrong!

I don't believe it's going anywhere for buyers. Since they've already integrated PP into US managed payments.

This has been discussed over and over.

PAYPAL will always be there for buyers.

Sellers WILL ALL be FORCED to switch over. This is confirmed and well known.

Re: When does ayden begin?

So what does that mean for stealth sellers ? those of us that ebay have permanently banned ?

When I switch to Ayden how can I verify myself with stealth details ?

2021 will be here in no time.

And if Ayden is like Paypal then is it just a case of signing up with real details and "selecting" Ayden as the payment option when listing items ?

Re: When does ayden begin?

james I think people will have to create LLC to use for managed payments when ayden rolls out a few have gotten in doing this. but as far as going stealth it will be over with ayden.

Re: When does ayden begin?

Adyen is not like PayPal- they are much like a bank which will verify the identity with 3rd parties. Therefore it won't be possible to go "stealth" accepting Managed Payments without using someones identity.

This is pretty well known at this point. Unless something changes, stealth as we know it will be dead. I can tell you right now, most people will not be setting up LLC accounts. A lot of guys on here churn and burn accounts with what they sell.

Yes, and the desperate will resort to illegal means to get accounts; resorting to old fashioned Identity Theft and submitting phony docs. Nothing much has changed at that front since there are a great deal of "stealthers" out there are using SSN verified PayPal's already.

As I've mentioned in a previous thread, eBay has 1 seller for every 25 buyers on their platform, and they don't really need any more. The ones they want are the large established retail shops, or those doing big volume. The small guys selling $1k-$5k /mo are small peanuts to eBay and probably not worth the trouble.

The days of setting up an eBay/PayPal just to sell some used household items is slowly going away. eBay wants to be more like Amazon, and the guy selling his stuff laying around the house will likely start going to other platforms. In fact, with the recent changes such as the forced GTC listings, I believe that eBay may be ending the iconic auction soon.

I just don't see Joe Schmoe wanting to go through all the trouble of setting up the Managed Payments and submitting docs just to sell a few used items.

But I thought EBAY will be opting In everyone for managed payments by mid 2020? And full roll out by 2021?

Re: When does ayden begin?

The interesting thing is yes it will be harder for those sellers that churn and burn accounts (not impossible but harder); however those that just need one new account or even two; those invincible sellers that come and go quickly (on the forum), those people will not be affected by this as it's still entirely possible (still harder) to get back on, even with Ayden.

This will just affect the power users; those that want/have dozens of accounts or more. At least in places Ayden is rolled out. Other locations will be business as usual?

Do you really think that 3rd world countries are gonna be Adyen-compatible? I don't think so, its just not possible to verify details and that's a liability for them.
