Teething Trouble.... I hope
 

Ok, im new to this so please bare with me.

Ive just opened my first "stealth" ebay account.

The account is opened under a name and address that are not my own.
The paypal account I have opened is also under my pseudonym.

Ive just tried to list my first item for sale, gone through the text message verification but ebay want me to set up my automatic payment method.

Stupidly, ive gone to put Paypal as my chosen payment method and then entered my own name and address to correspond with the debit card and bank account I wanted to pay from. I did try to submit that information but paypal would not accept it, I guess because the name and address did not correspond with the info they had. My own home address (the one that ebay know about when they banned me) is now on that payment form however.

I have however set up automatic billing from a Post Office "One4all Card".... I know not to let Ebay take payment from my bank account, only from my paypal balance.

Do you think this will cause me a problem? Am I likely to lose this account?

It’s possible yes, just have to wait an see on that.

If it’s just the address that is the same it should be ok

This is what the VCCs gets used for though, it avoids this happening

Just noticed that the first and only item I have listed has been deleted...

Where have I gone wrong?

Just tried to list another item and its telling me:

"It looks like there's a problem with this listing.
Users whose registered status is blocked can't complete this request. Please resolve any outstanding complaints on file before proceeding."

Shall I scrap this account and start again?

What did you list? It could also be the item that's the cause of it.

how long did you wait before listing an item for sale?

The account was open for 18 hours before I started listing. Didnt buy anything from that account. I listed an old cheap Iphone and then a birdspotter scope thingy. Just junk, both items under a tenner.

You really need to wait before listing. Many people say 30 days but no matter what, you have to browse around, create lots of cookies, log in and out, at least a few days or weeks preferably.

Iphones by nature or anything name brand actually are EXTREMELY HIGH RISK and almost certainly can be deleted even if the account was 100% legit.

Oh,,,, another lesson learnt.

The iphone listing was indeed deleted... but the account was suspended before I had a chance to complete the next listing.

Will try again. Im sure it was the paypal that tripped it.

doubtful.

I would say, 90% of accounts that list the first day get suspended, real or not.

Add in Iphone, and it is a nail in the coffin.

Odds are, paypal had nothing to do with your ebay at all in this case, especially if the paypal in not limited.

Please don't list an iPhone or any item similar. You really need to list a really low value item.

I knew not to list anything high value but i was not aware that merely the name "iphone" would ring any bells. The thing is 10 years old and doesnt even work! :laugh:

So do you think the one4all card would have been an acceptable method of backup payment?

You don't need a VCC card for paypal. Just a bank account.

The one4all is a gift card I think. You use it at retailers, so I don't think it will work, but may be wrong.
