How you guys do your research?

Do you guys use any kind of software to see what sells well or what you would list? How you guys do your research on what to sell? Are you guys usually right? Are you guys the cheapest?

I look at stuff I would be interested in buying electronics are what sells good phone case etc then type it into ebay then refine search to sold see how often its been selling and for what price then see if you can get it lower to make money.
