no Returns

Hey all, i realised after listing a few items i dont have the option to deny returns? The box for returns is checked and can not be undone. Any help?

Re: no Returns

is it a business account? because by law you must accept returns if that is the case.

Re: no Returns

You must accept returns, eBay always overrides your policy.

Re: no Returns

really?
tell it to the buyers who then go to Paypal, then their cc issuer,by then they dont even have to return the item to win the INAD dispute

Re: no Returns

With item not as described, the buyer always win,no one but the buyer and seller have seen the item,it is a case of he said/she said.
So the fair way to deal with it is ask the buyer to return the item, get his money back and the seller will relist and sell again.
Ebay used to ask the buyer to go and get an expert opinion that it is not as described, now they dont bother, the bot does not read email, watch videos.
So dont sell anything you cant afford to lose, you can sell a diamond tiara and buyer can return a plastic band with tracking,Ebay will refund him

Re: no Returns

There is a case where a 60 years old Florida shop which sells preowned watches,it has been selling on EBay for several years.
Someone bought a $25k watch and asked to return the watch,so they sent a return tag.via Fed Ex.
When Fed exp driver delivered the package, they notice it weighs less than 4 lbs,so they call the police and open the package in front of the police,it was empty so they filed a police report, then they called Ebay hi value customer service.
Ebay told them they have 3 days to refund else it will DO so for them, and they can take the case up with Fed EXP.
They did not insure the watch and Fed EXP offers indemnity only,$100 for non jewelry and $1k for jewelry.
I am not even sure insurance co will approve their claim if they have insurance ?

Re: no Returns

Thing about eBay is even if you have the option for no return, the moment they open a dispute, you really have no choice.

So might as well have that no return option checked.

Re: no Returns

There is really no way to avoid a return if the buyer insists on it. Whatever "policy" you have means nothing when a simple click of a mouse can open a case quickly to get their money back. That's the bottom line.
