Product (health & beauty) "pre-approval" before listing?
 

Does anyone have any experience with getting Ebay to review and "pre-approve" a product before listing?

I am in the Health & Beauty category and while I believe some products are walking the line between OTC and RX, it would be nice to get a pre-approval before suspension or restriction. I have been restricted on these products before while there are sellers that have been selling them for YEARS, so, I know they allow some people but not everyone and Im not sure I understand why? Is it because other sellers have a business EIN with medical-device registration assigned to the account? Are they flying under the radar because they have never been restricted or reported before??

That's not exactly how is works with eBay. Amazon typically works on an "ungating" scheme where you are pre-approved to sell in particular categories, or ASIN's.

eBay on the other hand will allow you to sell in most categories, and you will probably have your listing removed, or "VeRO'd" if they don't like it.

Since your item falls close between "OTC and RX", you might want to ask what the guidelines are for it. Even so, there is so guarantee they will take it down even if an eBay rep tells you it's OK.

One thing I have learned over the years selling on eBay is to take what they tell you with a grain of salt.
