Is death near for my stealth account? I've been seeing this pop-up in the notifications center of PayPal for weeks but I can still sell without issue:
"Because you receive payment for goods or services through PayPal, you must verify your U.S. taxpayer status to avoid limitations to your account."

If I just stop selling for the rest of the year will it go away or is death for this account enviable at this point if I can't provide SSN? I can still sell on eBay and use PayPal without issue. $13k gross, 190 items sold.

There will always be some ways but i think for now US PayPal is a bad game to play.

If you stop now you should be good next year.

But if you hit 200 then the account is done forever unless it gives a tax ID. They used to reset but evidently do not anymore.

200 items sold via PayPal or per eBay account tied to the PayPal account. Well under $20k on PayPal. Wondering if can just tie another eBay account to the same PayPal account since only selling small items.

it doesn't reset, IF you go over the limit and they require it. Right now, they are asking for it, not requiring it.

What would another ebay account do exactly? This is paypal related. Has nothing to do with ebay.

In the hypothetical scenario that the 200 item limit applied to eBay and not PayPal, having a 2nd eBay account would allow someone to potentially sell twice as much. However, it appears that the 200 item limit is tied to PayPal and not eBay.

Are there any limits on the number of items someone can sell on eBay (stealth account) without a tax ID if the buyer doesn't pay using PayPal? Is it just the actual limit listed on the account? (500, 1000, etc). What if the buyer pays with an eBay gift card?

What?

Ebay has nothing to do with tax information if not on Managed Payments. This hypothetical is like talking about my Unicorn Ranch.

IRS law states 200 transaction and 20K Paypal will freeze an account when you hit these limits and oftentimes if one or the other. Adding a new ebay would not help with the IRS law paypal follows.
