No tax ID-any way to sell 400 items if under $10,000 gross?

If someone sells a lot of small items and doesn't provide a tax ID/ssn to PayPal, would PayPal likely ask for tax information if you sell close to 400 items in a year but are under $10,000 total? Would linking 2 eBay accounts to 1 PayPal account at all help with the item limit?

No idea, I just got hit with first ID request for an account at around 130 items and $32k sold.

No, it's not possible on a US account. Over 200 transactions = required to provide a tax ID regardless of where you're selling or how you're receiving payments.

Just get an EIN. Sheesh.

adding a second ebay would make the matters worse because PAYPAL is the one who needs tax info.
