Cannot take out funds
 

So for some reason my original bank linked got unliked from paypal and im trying to link another bank account and it wouldnt let me. also tried to send payments to others but says i have to get a paypal cash account..and that asks for ssn.. i dont know what to do i have funds in paypal cant get them out any suggestions ?

Whats the reason for not being able to add the bank account?
What is the error messege youre getting?
What bank are you trying to add?

I would just try to call pay pal and have a representative add it manually.

I don't know what you mean by that, but the name on whatever bank account is irrelevant regardless. If you had any experience with eBay/PP stealth accounts you would understand that ACH transfers between accounts with mismatching names are one of the fundamental building blocks of this entire system. Please avoid misdirecting users if you don't have any idea what you're talking about. :nono:

I have not read any of the comments above but adding a bank to Paypal has become much harder than it needs to be. I am starting to hate paypal. We will be moving our last accounts to Managed Payments soon.

I'm sitting on the same issue. I am reviving some accounts that I haven't used in a couple of years. Now they have this whole "Paypal Cash" thing. I do have one account in which they removed the bank from. it will not allow me to add another bank. I've tried different banks and even opened a new PNC bank account, but it just won't take any of them. It tells me try again later. I'm now giving it some time and gonna try again down the road. for now, I've just been using the instant deposit my credit card and paying the 1% fee

It's just that they're trying to add a new bank account to an old Paypal. At this point it's a known obstacle that's darn near impossible to get around on stealth accounts.

OP,

1. Why did they unlink your bank?
2. Why use a NEW bank and not just readd the old one?

Adding a new bank to paypal will trigger that BS error message.

wait for 3-4 days, then try adding the old bank account.

I'm not sure about him, but in my case, I just signed in and there was no bank associated with the account anymore. Both bank accounts that I have tried where new accounts the had never been link to a PayPal account before.

Update. I'm reviving other old accounts that haven't been used in a while and they're all the same way. I cannot add a current bank to any of my old account. I can always do an instant transfer to my card for a 1 percent fee. I'm just curious if there might be a problem if I just create a new PayPal account and add it to the eBay account. Would this be risky or should I just use the instant transfer and pay the fee?

In your previous post,you said it is your credit card yo used for instant transfer and pay 1%?
Do you mean your bank issued debit card?not credit card.

if Paypal accepts your bank issued debit card,it should accept the bank account if this is where your fund would be transferred to?
the only difference is ACH is free but slow

Paypal will remove a bank account if there are too many NSF instances,or it has problem accessing it.
Or it does not do business with that bank,eg internet only bank

Sorry, yes. It is a bank issued card. All 3 of these Paypal accounts have a bank issued debt card but refuse to take a bank. I opened a new Pinnacle account, but it won't take it. I opened a new PNC account. It won't take that either :-(

well,what about the banks which issue you the debit cards you linked to your Paypal account now,?
then if you dont feel like paying 1% and in no hurry,you can withdraw to the bank account,via ACH which is slow but free

you said you have bank issued debit cards,so who is the bank which issued you the card,you must have a bank account with the bank?
if so,the link the bank account,enter the routing number and the account number,you should be able to find on your check

That is the whole issue. Paypal will not let us add a bank account. Please read the thread lol

Paypal can remove bank account if it has too many problems like NSF ,or it has already been linked to another PAYPAL account,or it does not do business with that bank/
You should just call and ask why?
Paying 1% for faster transfer is good if you need the money same day,but ACH is free
