If you edit a listing, after selling it, is there a way to see the original listing?

What a pain in the ass. Seems to keep happening. I sell something, then edit it. And when I get ready to ship, I forget certain details of that specific sale.... LIke, was it new or new with defects?

lol advice please, that doesn't involve " well, write it down...". :D

Because I have a lot of the same item, that might have a tiny difference, and you get the benefit of past sales? I have things that haven't sold for months. Then one sells, and within a few days, I've sold 5 in a row.

It won't. If you click on the item in the sold section, it will just bring you to the current version of the item. The buyer, can go into the listing, and click " see original listing", but I don't think a seller has that ability. It gets even more confusing lol when I change the color of the item, and the buyer gets confused. But the benefit of future sales, out weighs that

Again, the easiest way is just to keep track... but hey, I'm lazy and sometimes forget. Just can't imagine how ebay wouldn't be able to show you the original listing. Guess I'll ask next time I call in.

Viewing the sales record should show everything, right?

The order details page will show the original title, and the original picture. But if you click on the item itself, it will bring you to the current one. You can click on the " see all revisions", but it only gives a summary. At the bottom, it says

Quote:

The seller may make revisions during the listing period. However, the seller cannot change some of the information, such as format or duration of the listing. Learn more

As a buyer, you can see the item you purchased from the Purchase history page.
The buyer can see it. Nothing about the seller tho.

I've got nothin. :noidea:

I know what you're talking about RE: the buyers point of view. It's easy to see the listing before revisions as the buyer. I assume there's some way for sellers to access that same page, but I can't find a link anywhere that will take me to it. Might be worth calling eBay and/or asking the community forums.

what I do when an item is sold out is that I wil go thru relisting and save it as draft, then you can go to the draft listing and see the original description.
