eBay tagged an account as compromised
 

I sold an ebay account to a customer, he came today back to me and told me a horrible story:

- ebay tagged his account as compromised
- His listing got removed
- all of his buyer got an message from ebay that his account got hacked and they should open a case based on they didnt received the item.

His account had 99.6% feedback rate
2900 positive feedbacks view negative
0 cases.

Someone experience that
.. for me thats just wow.

Did he use a different PayPal account to receive payments?

Yes he rotate pp bc of big funds he does it since ages. Ebay allow that actually

Rotating pp might have tripped some flags too.

Ebay doesn't really "allow" that - ppl do it but doesn't make it allowed...

They may well say that they do, but it comes with the risk of running into issues sometimes, like your friend has found out.

The reason why i asked this, it's because I had also this experience before.
You/He should not rotate the PP accounts as it will cause redflag or suspicious activity on the account.

But it's easy to fix this issue. Just call in, and confirm it was you accessing the account. This is crucial since they might link the accounts (maybe to a previous suspended accounts)
Or the safest way is tell them that you have secured the account already, and thank them for notifying you :bounce:

Yes might the best solution problem he facing now .. ebay told 13k buyer they should open a case. 20 so far since 4 hours..

A lot of people play the system

I’ve never been a fan of that message that they send out when they remove items

They need to make sure to input the tracking details for each item that was delivered

Yupp he told me ebay doesnt care (uploaded tracking) as they mention in that message its a compromised account and the item they received send by fraudl activity. Something like that. Its horrible nothing my customer can do right now get hit by cases still since already almost 24 hours. I guess he should just forgot his pp and move on.
