Can US eBay Stealth Accounts be suspended for stock photos?
 

If I purchased an US eBay + Paypal account and got suspended then the seller said the reason is stock photos and he can't fix this. Is that my fault or is he lying?

Using stock photos will result in Vero takedowns --> Vero hits will get your account toasted.

Not really anything about Vero mentioned just suspensions and then he said he talked on the phone and ebay said stock photos. And only one listing so far

Stock photo can be a reason yes. You should be taking your own pictures.

Which is funny, considering how much ebay was pushing their catalog, which would have used other sellers photos, for everyone.

Its more stock photos taken from another website that are the issue. Some brands are really hot on it, others a bit more lax.

Get one delivered to you and take a picture. eBay really don't like drop shipping, its why they like to see actual pictures of the items on new accounts so much.

some dropshippers have over 1000 items,are you saying they should buy 1000 items ,some are in Indonesia,ISrael,Spain,India,Micronesia

here is something interesting -
Back in May,an Ebay seller sold an oven for $1927 (free shipping),shipper was slow to deliver so buyer file dispute of item not received.
Seller lost the case as the tracking number has showed no progress from the time she uploaded and the time Ebay decided on the outcome of the case.(This is one requirement for extension )
It was a Friday when eBAY decided in favor of the buyer.
On Monday the oven was delivered and signed for,so now the buyer got a free oven !
Seller appealed 3 times and denied,denied,denied!
She now filed police report in both her hometown and buyer hometown.
Looking at her sales history and the pictures she took,it looks like she just walked into the store and took pictures with her phone and listed on Ebay.
So the question is-
should Ebay reimburse her for her loss?
According to Ebay,once the case is closed,seller would have to look outside Ebay for any resolution.
Would the police be able to help her recover her oven?
what about small claims court?
I think they are in different states?
Someone asked why didnt she not stop the delivery,she said it was a weekend,she could call Monday morning or most nationwide shipper has a hot line 7/24 if she works in that industry as a real sales rep she would know better

You bought an account and the account is fine... then you start selling and you got suspended... how is that the seller’s fault?

The seller’s responsibility is to deliver a good account that’s not dead on arrival.

eBay CS reps have suspended my account upon making my first listing, and when I call in to try and get reinstated the rep has warned me not to use stock photos. However they always say this, even when the photo I am using is not stock.

So there is no 100% answer, but I do consider stock photos to be a bit more risky.

I'm also dropshipping from Amazon. And i always use stock photos anywhere from the internet.
Never had a suspension due to that using of stock photos.

Then you’re lucky if you never get nailed from using stock photos.

But stock photos does contribute to suspensions or listing take downs depending on the company that owns them.

Once again you are taking something out of context.

This is a THREAD about a NEW stealth account and stock photos.

I would recommend NO stock photos for 90 days from the 1st sale. Age starts on the 1st day of the 1st completed sale.

While we're here, don't list anything in quantity on a single listing during that same 90 days. If you have more than one, just list one, then relist it after it sells.

Never thought using stock photos can be an issue for suspension.
Been using stock photos since I started selling on eBay (2015)
I'm just removing the exif of the stockphotos using batchpurifier.
I've been suspended but for other different reasons.
But i will take note of this. It's better be safe than sorry! :)

You have been lucky but stripping the exif might have been helping you for tag reasons

Hey now. Don't be so quick to dismiss the buyer like that, or defend the seller. Just because a seller delivers an account that functions on arrival, doesn't mean it's a GOOD account. I'm not saying it is the sellers fault, because there is obviously not enough info. But YOU also don't have enough info to say it's NOT the sellers fault.

On aged account usually it’s not a problem but on a brand-new account it can be a problem, it depends on what’s up photo was used, if it’s branded, where the pictures come from etc

If you want to eliminate the risk take photos of your own items
