Bad and dirty competition

H
I am selling an item on eBay for very good margin profit (500%)until one of the idiots who have no life come to market !, he is selling at very low price destroying and killing the market, i tried talk with him and see if we can come to an agreement but no results he just continu to drop the price to the zero profit!!!
He is rude no communication at all , watching my items and copy them and if a drop the price he drop more !!!
and the surprise I discovered later that one of my negative feedbacks was from his friend , all that before even I talk to him !!!

Now My question is is anybody had situation before and How to deal with it?

Why are you even paying attention to this guy?

Concentrate on your own business and adapt. The more time you spend focusing on your competitors is less time you will be making money.

I have numerous items that are more expensive than my competitors but they still mainly buy from me. I ship in one day and my customer service is beyond reproach. I suggest you do the same and also to expand your line.

Yea, that's the game...
it was not a bad idea to try to talk to him, you both could have benefitted but he decided to be a child.

I'd say up your customer service and report any copying he did from your listing to eBay. They don't allow that.

Me and other honest seller are offering same day delivery and maintien a good feedback score , the problem is the price difference ,you will lose against any competitor that offer very very low price 50% or more !
I guess I have No options than ask my friends to give bad feedbacks as he did before , every seller I know is suffering and hates what he does

I did all that ebay has removed his listing once, but nothing after , he started the war so I will respond with negative feedbacks

I agree, OP, this is frustrating. Sounds like your competitor is pretty ruthless.

This is one of the advantages of having multiple accounts to sell on, it would spread things out and make it a little harder to know if he is dealing with the same person, or not.

Yes totally agree, I have other accounts selling other products but not this item , i am trying to keep myself far of his radar he is copying all my listings and sell with lower prices.
I have never seen a mad person how have no life at all just watching me ,everytime I drop the price to match his price, one hour later he drop more !

Re: Bad and dirty competition

Lowball sellers that don't make money on their products usually burn themselves out pretty quick and just go away. People that sell products that you know break even or lose money usually are just liquidating or in need of quick cash for reasons only they know. Nobody is going to deal with the headaches of selling on Ebay long term just to lose money...Nobody! I wouldn't give this guy the time of day, I wouldn't buy is stuff just to leave a negative (too childish) and I would focus on my other listings and sales until he goes away if I were you.

Re: Bad and dirty competition

How do you know he makes no profit?
He could be your wholesaler/distributor or a kid who has access to such,?
if you have a 500% profit, and he is your supplier ,he can beat you any time and still make money.

Re: Bad and dirty competition

Why don't you beat him at his own game?

You're selling at a 500% profit margin so you have a lot of room to reduce your prices. Even if you're forced to break even. Undercut and out sell and he's likely to pack it up.

there will always be competition, whatever you sell, someone can sell as well.
Folks are always looking for something to sell on Ebay and your whopping 500% sure caught their attention.
Ebay price is somewhere between retail and wholesale,so get ready to make less.

That’s what I did and now the profit is only 100% or less , what ever price I sell with , he st lower than me . Can’t beat him , The market was totally killed other sellers also sell at very low prices and thanks to him !
As many members mentioned it’s time to move on I can’t lose more time , But sure I’ll give him a what he deserves :coffee:

Re: Bad and dirty competition

why dont you ask him if he would sell wholesale if you order large quantity,it would give you some idea if he is either a wholesaler or access to wholesale price.

Re: Bad and dirty competition

i would put a high price and buy the items with stealth accounts or ask friends, then just refund, he will see how much you are selling them for and how often
