it means nothing.

you will still be broke until your dying days....and constantly fighting to get money released when they put your accounts on hold on ebay....

The board has new members who do not like how Ebay conducts business.stay tuned-it takes the same resources to host a $1 item or a $100 item, there is too much trash on Ebay.

eBay is a dying breed. It’s unfixable at this point.

Really is kind of a relic from the 90's :coffee:

There'll usually someone who'll come up with a better platform.

Just can't wait when that time comes.

Re: Devin Wenig and what that means for us..

Many have tried,Epier,Bidvill,Gold,Ioffer,Bonanza,Yahoo auction,AMZN auction,Rubylane,Ecrater,Google,Overstock auction,Ioffer plus many more.
Do you know at one time Paypal was giving away over $100,000 a day ,$10 for you to sign up and $10 for someone who refer you to Paypal.
Most of these places do not have deep pocket.
Ebay will be around, just need some changes, listen to the sound of layoff,HPE 7-9k,KR,Wework,GM,Forever 21,and all the empty malls.

All kinds of people need Ebay, disabled SS recipients ,unemployed, self employed, retirees, small mom and pop shops, students, housewives, even USPS,BBY sell on Ebay.
Overseas sellers from poor countries, you know how much they can buy with US$10?

Hope you're right but I doubt it. I give them 10 years before their traffic is as low as Myspace's traffic today.

So sad to see on a dying path. I hope it changes course for the better of all sellers small and large.

Agreed. You've got kids with disabilities running ebay. A blind man can make the company do better than whats going on now. Gonna be interesting to see ebays quarterly earnings report.

Re: Devin Wenig and what that means for us..

They’re suspending all new accounts for no reason which is ruining their business. Gotta feel bad for those innocent people who is unaware of stealth and is just trying to sell their old iPhone 4 for quick cash just to get suspended for absolutely no reason.

But hey if Ebay wants to lose money and go out of business then they can continue with the policies they have now.

Re: Devin Wenig and what that means for us..

There are some financially savvy people who just joined the board,Ebay has a lot of potential to take on AMZN,it now offers FBA for big players.
More will come, the Fed Exp,DHL,UPS ,the target, wmt, macy, nordstrom and Bestbuy, and thousands of medium size retailers,EBAY traffic is second to Amzn,Ebay small sellers try hard, ship fast, and work for pennies.
It is a powerful army of rag tat foot soldiers !
(sorry,cant spell right,senior moment !)

IF ebay would just let us sell anything they would make trillions :)

They dont realize it but they are driving their business down the dirt. Imagine being forced to provide your SSN just to sell a couple old books lol. Better yet imagine being that innocent person who is using Ebay for his first time ever and getting suspended right after listing an old belonging for sale.

agent006140 10-04-2019 05:28 PM

Re: Devin Wenig and what that means for us..

There are more sellers than buyers,Ebay needs more buyers, not more sellers.
Sales Venues would soon be liable for what are sold on their sites, they will be stricter in making sure what we sell would not get them into trouble.
IF You dont want to give out your SSN,then find another venue to sell.

your completely wrong.

basically e-commerce is deeply saturated. if you are now trying to join the game your too late you are not going to reap any of the real benefits.

the ones that reap the most are the ones that started in the beginning. thats how it works.

Dude, you are delusional. We are talking e-commerce, not the oil industry :rip:

agent006140 10-05-2019 02:53 PM

Re: Devin Wenig and what that means for us..

no different in oil industry, the ones who own the oil fields in Permian basin and elsewhere paid a lot less than those in the 2000s when crude went to 125 /barrel.
some even talk about building their own oil rig as there is not enough oil rig to go around.
But back to Ebay, early days it was wild, one proxy bid at $50,the other $100,then the first one came back and has to bid $101.It takes 2 bitches to fight over your item /
I was ripping pages out of a book and some got bidded up to over $100 dollars, but you have to know which book?
It was once in a lifetime get rich opportunity, some retired and write books, some quitted their day job and did Ebay full time.
Plenty of dropshipping going on with PC,laptop, camera, scanners ,printers.
