Browser fingerprinting

How much business will Ebay lose if they managed to get rid of every single stealth account and only allowed ID verified accounts?

Plus remember even the ID verified accounts will be suspended sooner or later because of the 1000's or rules they are guaranteed to break sooner or later.

Re: Browser fingerprinting

Ebay needs more buyers, not more sellers.
If one individual opens 20 seller accounts and sell the same items which he does not have in stock,it hurts the good seller who have just one seller account and has the item in stock.
race to the bottom is one situation to describe Ebay selling.
Why do you think Ebay CEO get sacked?

Yeah I agree, it's less about the sellers and more about buyers for eBay.

They're putting obstacles in the way of sellers.. when they start doing that for buyers.. look out!

Ebay will not lose business,if there were 10,000 listings for the same item and now there is 1000 listings, buyers should have no problem buying,Ebay will still make the same FVF and listing fee and save on hosting /bandwidth

I don't think they care that much about bandwidth. The most useful features are too many clicks away and the UI feels like the product a group of
scatterbrained people designed it.

The UI could be re-designed for speed yet aesthetically pleasing to buyers but I don't think they look that way.

The more unique sellers the more unique items and price competition which keeps prices lower. What your saying is why not just have one seller and no competition? Which would equal terrible selection and price fixing. Ebay would be no different from your local Walmart.

If the item is new and can be ordered via wholesaler/distributor,you will see plenty of legit sellers selling them, not one seller.
if it is one of a kind, say customs made or antique then there will be a few or one seller.
why do you think accountants have CPA and lawyers have the Bar,doctors have AMA and factory workers have unions,?
why do you think Trump wants to build a wall?
It is all about skin in the game, dropshippers, retail arbitrage listing zillions of items they dont have in stock and happy with a 25 cents profit hurt the good sellers who own their stock and rely on their income to pay bills .

Ebay will update policy accordingly. The payment management system Ayden probably be one of there best and worst move since PayPal. I had good experience selling vero items from china until I PayPal terminated my account. Ebay no better than Amazon.

You can easily make a new ebay & PayPal verified account if your clever. Ebay tries to scare away new seller from profitable gain so they can give all their services to big brick and mortar businesses who is no clever than the 17 year old kid selling out of his parents garage.

Ebay FVF 1099k and payment management will bring a big change next year. Hopefully everybody who lost to PayPal and ebay will learn stealth and by pass all the bs verification.
