Problems with Thailand ebay account
 

Hi Guys,

Great forum with many useful informations.

I am having some problems with Thai ebay account so i am having some questions.

Story so far:
I am living in Thailand for 4-5 months per year. I opended a ebay (private seller on ebay.de) and paypal account in my girlfriends name. Everything good until today, just having a limit that i can not offer more than 5 units per listed item.

Well, i created a 2nd account 3 weeks ago (ebay.de) and it was suspendend within 10 minutes (MC113). I contacted ebay, sent them the required informations and 2nd account was no more suspended.
Everything was done when i was in Thailand. Right now i am back in Germany.

I can use 1st account without problems but second account i can not list nothing. Ebay tells me that i should provide a phone number so they want to talk with me about my business plans and my suppliers.
Can anyone tell me what i have to expect here? I mean do i have to talk with a real person or just answer some standard questions to a computer voice?

I would like to have a business seller account but i am not sure how i can do it best without having problems. Is it better to try to open a new business seller account or should i change my working private account to a business seller account. Is it okay to make this while i am in Germany (IP) or should i wait til i am back in Thailand? Are there extra documents i have to provide when i change the account to a business seller account?

Ebay kicked some items out of my first account because they said it is medicine and not allowed to sell on ebay.de (some simple Thai balms) so i worry that i am on their radar already at the moment.

I am not having any intention to do some **** on ebay, not selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗ or whatever. Just a little support for girlfriend. I do the pc work and she is sending the stuff from Thailand.

if I understand what you said,you open 2 ebay germany accounts in Thailand under your girlfriend name,your girlfriend does the shipping in Thailand.Now you are back in Germany.while she remains in Thailand.
Why cant you open these accounts based in Thailand and teach her how to list ?
what is the difference between business seller account and private account?Never heard of such in USA Ebay?

I opened 2 accounts in her name on ebay.de because there is no Thai ebay where i can register.

Would be perfect if she can list items by herself but she has absolutely no idea of computers and it would be a bigger headache to teach her everything than doing the ebay work by myself and she is just shipping items.

In german ebay you can register as a private person who sells his private stuff from time to time or as a business seller who sells a lot new items and has a registered company.
Different fees, different rules, etc.

If you didn't register business in government, you can only have private accounts. Business accounts after Oct., you have to provide commercial papers as well as having VALID VAT. Otherwise forget the business accounts.

So Germany EBAY accounts are useless after Oct.

Trying to register accounts in other EU countries.

Thanks for this information. So as we still have October it is still possible to register a business account for my girlfriend. I just worry opening an account in her name with Thai address but German IP.

why not stock up and sell them yourself in DE and send her the moeny

From Oct.1.

If you open an account with German IP, then this account is a German account. I am sure the account will be dead within hours.

either she has to learn how to sell online while you are away,or you can take some of the items with you and sell in DE and wire her the money.
How is Thailand these days,is it still a nice place to visit?

If he registers the account on Ebay de from Thailand with Thai address and Thailand as the item location the account won't be useless (except it's gotten suspended of course) but in terms of German VAT regulations he's good. This goes for business accounts as well.

Even if she learns how to sell i (we) should have more than 1 account and thats why i am here to get infos how i can make the 2nd account running or create a new business account.

Thailand is still okay but not what it once was.
Alone the xchange rates and prices were much better before. The "cheap paradise" is gone.
For a 2-3 week holiday still okay.
