In 14 days your eBay account will be suspended if you don’t act now
 

We have received an email from contact@forbusiness.ebay.com with the following subject: "In 14 days your eBay account will be suspended if you don’t act now". It says that for being able to sell in Germany we need to provide a certificate (“Bescheinigung nach §22f UStG”) confirming the tax registration of our business in Germany.
We have no business in Germany.

Anyone knows how to avoid this?

Tell them that you don't operate or do business in Germany.
Much better if you can provide business docs to support this.

you will have to get creative with your docs or eventually get limited/suspended

It is the new law in Germany that puts responsibility on ebay , amazon etc. for any taxes that are deemed to be underpaid by sellers.

anyway , what is interesting , did you receive it for a personal or a business ebay account?

and also how much approx. does the account have in turnover on ebay germany?

yes. i have provided all sorts of docs to ppal and ebay. have several templates for just about everything i created. works most of the time unless you get a guy who thinks ebay is another acronym for FBI

As this topic is some month old, I can add some personal experience with this kind of email:

I just got the same mail from "contact@forbusiness.ebay.com".
I only received this mail in my mailbox, nothing official in ebay messages, that's the first point!
Second, I had a 30 minute chat with ebay support, where I send some screenshots of the email to them and they told me not to worry, because this was NO OFFICIAL mail from ebay, it was scam/spoof.

So, watch out for "contact@forbusiness.ebay.com", this is NOT OFFICIAL eBay, although you may think, but please have a close look at the email format:

forbusiness.ebay.com ?! really? this is a sub-mail-thing, don't know the correct terminology for this, but it's not official ebay mail!!!

@cr0nis - I have run into this problem just now and you seem to have tackled this quite well in the past. Please could you message me to chat about how to fix? I'd be really grateful for any help!

It's getting more difficult by the day to sell online with all these government regulations. Things are going to start to blue the proverbial line in the next year or so.
