New phone needed?
 

This week, I created my 2nd stealth ebay and paypal accounts. Followed all the steps correctly using a burner cell.

But, like a dummy, I didnt start slow. Listed a 'risky' item. (Pair of expensive shoes). And sold 2 $80 items right off the bat. Paypal immediately temp listed and asked for incoices and ID. Whoops.

Here is what I want to do.

A good friend with an aged ebay and PayPal who has never sold on ebay, agreed to 'rent' me his accounts thru New Year's day...as long as I dont sell more than 10k.

Can I reset the phone I just purchased to do this? Or, do i need another phone?

call the carrier and ask them to change your number

Depending on the carrier the number can most likely be changed.
On a sidenote - NEVER mix friends and business. Nothing good can come of it. If you get his account suspended - and trust me selling $10k in under 2 months can definitely do that - you kiss that friendship goodbye.
Not worth it.

Just to add to what slokor has already said. You friend's account has never sold before - so PayPal could still limit him for selling far less than $10K especially at this time.


As for friends and money, just remember the old saying: "Every time a friend succeeds, something in me dies"

Using your friend's account in the same way with selling risky items is not a good idea. Your friend's account is not "aged" - he/she has not been active on it so selling on it is like selling on a new account

Thank you for the info. You are correct. Even though his accounts are a few years old, he was hit with limits of 5 listings and 5 items sold.

I'll ask him, after the 5 items that I sold are delivered, to call into eBay and ask for higher limits.

But, it seems like the long term solution may be to just purchase an established eBay/PayPal account from an a vendor. Then, rock and roll.

His account is not aged. If he's never sold, it's only a buyer account. Once it becomes a seller account, it becomes a new seller account.

As long as the phone number is changed and factory reset I can use the same phone for a new stealth account?
