Got anonymous call 2 hours before ebay stealth suspension
 

My ebay account was just suspended, two hours ago i got an anonymous call from some random person asking if this is company xyz ( my company), he got my number from some one that im a supplier, bla bla, when i started asking questions he hung up.

Two hours later my account was suspended for good, (i have managed to sell 3 items before but it was all canceled.)

This is a new stealth account i used fresh vpn, gift card, prepaid cell phone.

How did ebay link my account with my reguler cellphone?

Only way i can think they got my number from the prepaid cellphone provider, ( i had my reguler cell number on file ther)

you said the caller told you someone name you as his supplier,so he could have given your cell phone number

Long ago,when eBAY suspects shill bidding,a rep would call you and ask if so and so home?
Then you said he just stepped out,then Ebay suspended your accounts.

no,Ebay cares a lot about shill bidding.
Sellers were bidding on their own auctions left and right .
It is not criminal offense,but it is against Ebay rule to bid on your own auction,at first ,it is fine to bid,but later Ebay changed the rule.
But then sellers will ask their friends to bid on their auctions to drive up the prices.

There are even listings on sites like Fiverr offering "services" to bid on your own listings to drive up the price. :lol:

That's really really weird. I'm assuming you have the caller's number on your caller ID?

From the sound of it , it could have been a competitor who bought from you and from there, they are able to see your info.

That is what I think as well. I don't know if bay still allow but in the past you were able to request members phone numbers . Maybe the competitor did this and reported him to his seller rep

But you should have their email address from their Paypal payments ?
Or is that gone too??

It used to be if you issue a refund from Paypal activities,you see buyer email address,but now with Ebay transaction,it is not available.
But it is there for non Ebay transaction,like Ecrater.
This can be a problem for Ebay seller as some buyers do not respond to ebay emails from seller

if buyer and seller want to explore doing business outside Ebay,they will find a way.
what about the physical address,from there,you can find his phone number or even write him?
or slip a note in the package

over 25 years of selling on EBay,I have encountered buyers who want to save shipping by coming to my house to pick up the item or meet at Barnes and Noble.
Most have more on their mind,like offering IT ,legal,antique appraisal service,access to suppliers/exclusive customers list I dont have.
or sell me a house,adopt a retired greyhound but I must pay $400 to clean their teeth first?

You can most of the time still get email address, though it is gone. Hit refund button and 95% of the time their paypal address will pop up to refund to. Then just cancel refund. Works 95% of the time.

thats gone too for ebay transaction,I tried it this morning.
But for ecrater,it is there.
So it must be due to Ebay request,no email exchange !
