(MC011 Bans): Using same images causing this?
 

Hi

I usually use the same photo across different accounts,

I have recently been getting MC011 bans and wanted to know if it was possibly my pictures causing this linkage.

My method:

Upload same photo onto Lightroom
Resize the pixels and add a unique watermark to that account (same watermark is used per account’s different listings)
Then use imageoptim to rinse the new photos

Is this safe practice?

Only thing I’m worried about is a manual review and you’ll see that it’s obviously the same photo. But I doubt eB would go one by one from one pic and compare it side by side to another

Is my method for photos causing my MC011 or linkage bans?

I do think similar photos cause linkage but that's just from my experience

I use exact same images with no issues across many accounts. Some get banned, others don't.

Using the same photos across accounts is poor practice but I do not think that in itself is the sole reason to get suspended.

With MC011, I'm leaning towards eBay not being happy with the product you're selling.
I know how nostalgic dropping a profitable product can be. But with account suspensions at an all-time high in the US, you may have to start looking out for other products.

Hmmm.... honestly It doesn't sound like it's the photo.
Must be something else. MC011 is usually activity issue in the account.

You didn't get a lot of claims and negs, did you?

No claims and negs.
These accounts have almost perfect feedback.

Some accounts are just a few sales in but these MC011 come in waves and ban a few accounts at the same time.

Do you think this can be a review of the product category I'm selling and not linkage?

Actually, I used to notice certain activity that eBay does have the capability to link accounts through the use of the same images. This was years ago, but when one tried to upload the same exact images used on a banned account, an error would occur where the image, although otherwise valid, would not be accepted as an upload. I haven't see this recently, but it still isn't recommended.

I’m using the photos my supplier provides to me. I’m using them on 4 different accounts. Other sellers use the same pictures as well. I lost two accounts last year with the same listings and photos on them. It did not link to my main accounts.
Anyway if possible using different photos on each account is recommended.

best is to use your own photos,it shows you have the merchandise on hand.
There is/was a policy on Ebay with electronic goods like PC,laptop at one time,if you are selling your own used ones,you cannot use stock photos,you must show yours so buyer can see the condition of your item.
