Multiple sim cards with one phone??

So I purchased a tracfone for phone verification and I also bought an additional simcard from tracfone that I planned to activate and use as a second phone number but sharing the same phone. According to tracfone that's not possible- the other sim card would need to be deactivated first. So, I figured I would purchase an unlocked phone and then my plan would work, but now I'm not sure. I know an unlocked phone can work with any network, but I'm not sure if it will work with multiple sim cards, especially if the sim cards are all from the same network. I could have one phone for each account, but before I do that I want to make sure there's not a cheaper way. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Multiple sim cards with one phone??

Don't know about the US, but here in the UK, an unlocked phone will accept and work with any sim that can fit in the slot.
There's a small exception but that's for technical reason and outside the scope of your question anyway.

If you get it to work as planned, see if it might be cheaper to activate call forwarding on each sim card instead of buying multiple devices. Just make sure your network does not announce when a call is being forwarded.

TracFone is a hassle for switching Sims
Straight talk, TracFone,total wireless,Verizon,sprint,boost,virgin
I stay away from all due to the cdma network and switching Sim hassle

I personally like att network and I use h2o wireless technically
Switch Sims and activate Sims as much as you like

Everyone has their own way though

Re: Multiple sim cards with one phone??

I have att, Verizon and resellers for both that all use the same phone. The only issue I have experienced is trying to swap the SIM card when the phone is unlocked. For some reason the best way was putting my phone in airplane mode, locking the phone then swapping the sim. After a few seconds I turn airplane mode off and I’m good to go.

If I don’t do this I tend to have incorrect APN data
