Dealing with hacked accounts and withdrawal

Hello everybody!

Recently I keep getting a lot of hacked accounts buying stuff from me, I am selling digital items and if I send them the goods the hacker can just use it and when the original owner gets back the account they can just dispute it since they didnt made the payment, so basically it can be a double loss for me.
So im not exactly sure what to do since you dont really have any way of knowing its the owner that made the payment or a hacker.
Can anybody suggest something how to deal with hacked accounts or what to do?

Also my other question is can someone recommend a service that offers UK bank accounts or VBA's for stealth Paypals?

Thanks for the help!

Welcome to the forum - all the best as you master stealth :thumn:

Digital items are a very tough market between suspensions and chargebacks and other sneaky stuff. You have to experiment and find what works for you - very rarely will you find upfront info on how to survive on it.

Suggestions exist but at a price.

UK bank accounts and VBAs are not offered on this forum currently - you will have to look elsewhere - be careful of scammers and good luck

Well I know they can lie, but for sure there are hacked accounts around the black market. People on other forums are selling them its not hard to get.
I mean there is gotta be some way. How do big sellers handle this then? What I noticed is that some items have higher scam/hack rate than others, but there must be a way to handle this even if it doesnt work all the time.

Big problem is for digital items people can just use the product and come back weeks later and make a case they didnt receive anything.

Re: Dealing with hacked accounts and withdrawal

usually happens to me on paypal dispute. a newly registered ebay account with zero feedback.
All i do is cancel transaction if i deem it high risk and loss.
Also happens with good standing accounts who are selective scamming, if it's high value check his feedback and decide if you want to finalize transaction from your side.
you can only minimize your chances of getting scammed, the item you sell is an easy target for theives, if your margins are high on that product and its only low percentage of overall sale, you should be able to accept it,

Yeah this is a good idea, unless you have a lot of newly registered buyers.

Im recently wondering if I can use a mail service and send out mails for cheap with tracking, but I didnt found any service that charges below 2.5-3$ with tracking and I dont think big digital sellers are doing it like this with tens/hundreds of digital items being sold per day, unless they have a source for really cheap mailing, but again I dont think they are doing it like this maybe some of them, probably they just auto send an ebay message or email with the product to the buyer and thats about it.

Chargebacks and scams are one thing but how are they avoiding getting their listing removed or getting their account limited if they are not providing tracking numbers?
Thats an even bigger question. I saw sellers with listings where they sold thousands of the same item without it being removed, that listing is probably up for few weeks or even months.

Maybe this is a super secret method?

Re: Dealing with hacked accounts and withdrawal

There is no seller protection for digital goods, if the buyer files a unauthorized transaction with there card issuer then there is little you can do about it, also if the buyer uses guest checkout for the purchase there is no cover at all.
Before sending any digital goods it's your choice whether you want to do business with the buyer or not, cancel the transaction if in doubt,
adding delivery info will be of no avail, some sellers may do this and state in there listing to deter scammers

Re: Dealing with hacked accounts and withdrawal

Try to put some limitations on bidders.

Like has to have paypal linked to ebay account to be able to buy ( in case of buy now item ) . Might help a bit.
Or put a limitation on the country they usually have the hacked ebay accounts from.

then they will either file UA or INAD,but then with INAD,they have to return the digital item?
if you give them a shipping label, they can return anything

Re: Dealing with hacked accounts and withdrawal

Big sellers count on manageable loss, they still make money with certain % tage of disputes

Thanks for the answers.

Im starting to get 21 day holds on one of my stealth Paypal, is there any way to reduce the 21 day hold to 3-7 days? I cant provide tracking number since they are digital items.
I heard there is a way to reduce it somehow without even tracking number.

I thought about an other solution maybe using a Mail Sending Service with tracking number where you can send mails Online but I didnt found any at like 2-3$ or cheaper, maybe if somebody can suggest one?

Re: Dealing with hacked accounts and withdrawal

It's not about reducing it. If you delivered or get positive feedback, sometimes the system will release it sooner, but there's no formula that it'll work all the time.

Re: Dealing with hacked accounts and withdrawal

Contact them with email after payment to confirm they bought it.
Or give 2-3 days delay.
