eBay caught us drop shipping
 

I just got the following email from eBay:

Anybody ever gotten this before? Sales are very down today - I'm assuming it's them suppressing the listings.

I uploaded some Amazon tracking numbers with the "TBA" prefix so have a feeling that might have something to do with it.

Also had a customer leave feedback on my store saying that I was drop shipping.

Wondering if my account will be able to recover from this.

eBay email:

Hello,

We’ve determined that you haven’t followed our selling practices - drop shipping policy.

There is evidence on your account that you are purchasing items from an online retail or marketplace site after you sell the item on eBay and having that retailer ship the item directly to the customer. While in violation of this policy, the account will not be eligible for the Top Rated program until it is in compliance.

Well know ebay is purging drop shippers for years and ramping up the purge.

If you start shipping your own products from your location , after a while the defect will expire and you should be ok.

Did you put your location zip code and one and when you upload the tracking it shows a different zip?

Why not buy the products from your sources and get them delivered to your place then you ship them yourself?

At this point it'd be much safer to do so.

It seems to me that if you break the rules you should be willing to take the consequences. Does anyone think that eBay's drop-shipping rule is a bad one?

Ebay has good reasons to ban retail arbitrage,it hurts the sellers who spends money to buy the stock and need a decent margin to stay afloat.
Ebay will also lose buyers when they find out they can buy direct from AMZN for LESS !
What OP is doing is not DROPSHIPPING,it is retail arbitrage,selling retail and buy from another retailer and make that retailer to do the packing and shipping.
You can dropship from your wholesaler,manufacturer,distributor if you run out of stock,or too bulky /expensive to carry all the models/design

And that is how ebay know what you are doing in my opinion. They all claim they don't get you 'flagged' but eBay isn't stupid.

You NEVER upload TBA tracking numbers to eBay. Your account has been flagged 200%! The easiest way to check if you have been flagged is to mark all of your listings under promoted listings. If you get less than 10 clicks a day then you are flagged. But since eBay already sent message then your account is pretty much toast. There is no real way to unflag your account once it is flagged.

Agreed.

I think there is a huge market to become a dropship supplier for ebay sellers. Lets face it, a lot of dropship sellers are from poorer countries, if you could provide products that they can make $2-$5 on you would have hundreds of potential customers. Would require a large amount of capital upfront though.

People have been getting this same letter for months and the consensus is it really hasn't affected their sales

They are doing it now,from Israel,Spain,HK,Singapore,Canada,Indonesia,their dropshipper is AMZN
