China Shipping Update

The country shuts down for Chinese New Year, they were suppose to reopen Factories 2-10-2020. BUT...……..are unable to reopen factory until 2-14-2020 per my main supplier. I am assuming it is Government Mandate.

Re: China Shipping Update

Where's your supplier located?

Mine's in Shenzhen and I'm getting a very shaky estimate of 2/18.

As far as I know from reading around, their government hasn't restricted exports. That's the last thing they would want to do. The main issue is cities on lockdown and workforces being stuck at home.

99,9% are in Shenzen area. All we have the same 18 February as date. And the 17 will become 26 Feb! Who want to bet?

One of my suppliers who are based in Guangdong told me on Sunday my goods will be shipped within 2-3 days, I have my fingers crossed.

Re: China Shipping Update

According to some articles, the virus is capable of surviving up to 9 days when found on hard surfaces.

I think this will be the new dilemma for everyone importing stuff out of China :-/

In a note seen by The Associated Press, the U.S. Postal Service informed its counterparts around the world on Tuesday that it is "experiencing significant difficulties" in dispatching letters, parcels and express mail to China, including Hong Kong and Macau, "because most of its supplier airlines have suspended their flights" to those destinations.

As a consequence and "starting immediately," USPS said it can no longer accept items destined for China, Hong Kong and Macao "until sufficient transport capacity becomes available."

Likewise, in another, separate note seen by the AP, Singapore Post told its global counterparts that it is no longer accepting letters, parcels and express mail items destined for China, "until sufficient transport capacity becomes available."

I think what matters is the fact that they shipped it, not necessarily "where" its being shipped to.

If you would have bought through Alibaba they would have refunded your money? I NEVER agree to buy outside of Ali to save shipper "fee"

Don't have to pay for it. I received item that was packed poorly and half broken, sent images to Alibaba, refunded money IMMEDIATELY

It seems it will be March until shipping resumes. I can honestly say I am a bit nervous.

Re: China Shipping Update

I just got news from numerous suppliers who thought the 21st was when they could resume but they got granted privilege tomorrow.

Almost all my suppliers are back to work expect two. Things are progressing in China, at least for my suppliers.

My suppliers are saying 18th Feb is the date, my shipping agent has already started accepting orders and shipping packages!

Are most of you guys drop shipping ?

Re: China Shipping Update

I think my supplier must be loaded and/or lazy because she wasn't planning to start work untill Feb 19th before the virus struck. I owe her 8000 dollars and her kid goes to private school. Now she has revised her back to work date as the end of February. She actualy has stock ready to send out , but she says DHL isn't working untill the end of Febraury. She's in Guangzhou.

It's not just eBay that is dependent on Chinese products!! Amazon, Walmart and many other mega corporations are tied to Chinese factories as well :brushteeth:
